i am taking methycobalim and methylfolate infusions and injections with a myers coctail for methyl deficiency due to a genetic factor of not producing enough. Perhaps those that are having problems, maybe start with a lower dosage, and research shows you should be taking with other b vitamins as well. speak with your doctors and make sure they are really familiar with this deficiency, some are not, research and find one that is.These treatments have been very helpful to me, legs are better, have sciatica and arthritis. good luck. ask questions and research.

I self administer B12 inj. monthly (also OTC low dose iron a couple times a week) for pernicious anemia and not being able to make the intrinsic factor. My doctor prescribes it and I fill it at the pharmacy every month. If I wait longer than a month.......thinking I know more than "my body," everything shuts down. So, my body reacts big time to B12 in a very positive way. If you need it......your eyelids will be heavy, your lips will be very pale, connective tissues ache and the digestion system just shuts down! I just wish my rx B12 did not have to have the added preservative. I used the preservative free OTC vials when I was in France.

After reading many of the replies re B12, I am concerned that way toooo many of us are having neuropathy problems in arm/ fingers and feet/ toes. So, what is the common denominator? Permanent press Chemcals, food additives, hair/ cosmetic ingredients, building materials, medicines, previous surgery/anesthesia, etc? As a senior, I do not like....."for your age."

anyone who has a methyl b12 issue really needs to do research on their specific situation. everyone's body is different, i would not want to advise anyone about a specific treatment, what works for me, may not be good for you. i have spent hours on line researching supplements to address this issue and have found positive results. also, you should use the information that your doctor has obtained for you to research for your situation. you can google example: b12 and genetic factor, may give you answers, your issue may have started genetically.

I've been taking Methycobal 500mg tabs, for about the last four years. It's given me great relief from cramps in legs, joints shooting pain, etc without any side effects. {edited for privacy}
