Methadone Clinic Phases (nc)

I have been on "Phase 13" (13 take homes) for the last couple of years. I took pain meds (had surgery couple of months ago). I lost phase 13 and was moved down to six take homes. How long will I have to be on this phase at the methadone clinic before moving back up?

It is really up to the clinic and their rules, which you generally agree to, when you sign up for treatment with them. Thus, no one else can give you a hard and fast answer.

Did they know you were having surgery, and taking other pain medications? Most do not allow them, and if they weren't informed, some clinics have actually dropped patients for that.

The FDA warns that Methadone carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as dizziness, nausea, dry mouth, headache, and constipation.

I am sorry, I know this isn't very helpful, but they are allowed to set some of their own rules, and protocols, so some things might vary from one clinic to another.

I know it’s messed up but some clinics can tell you that if there are any other opiates in your System they can take all of your take homes away.. I had all of my teeth pulled out in 2011 and I was given Vicoprohan. I gave the clinic my copy of my He prescription and they were fine with it. There is a doctor who wrote a letter to all doctors telling them how important it is to give opiates to methadone Maintenance patients after a major surgery orba broken bone. For us Methadone doesn’t address the pain..If I can find the letter I will let you know.. To do the OP. What your clinic mic do was so wrong. I would file a grievance. I may not help your case but down the road they will have to change. I’m really sorry that happened to you
