Methadone Clinics And Alabama Medicaid

Updated

My husband has been on methadone at a local clinic, drug tested often, never failed a test, unemployed...want info to get into a Dr's care, cost(no insurance), assistance program, etc. There's suppose to be counseling,individual/family...I'm very proud of his success...especially since he's pretty much on his own. They supply the demand, take money....that's about it. Please help, we don't know where to start. Thx

I am in albama and goi to a clinic. Sorry, once you go to a clinic you are labled an ADDICT. its in the Alabama prescription Database. A regular doctor cannot write methadone for addiction,, but he can for pain. Unfortunately you went to a clin FIRST and he is now labeled an addict and a regular doctor wont TOUCH him with methadone, They can have their license pulled. If if were that easy dont you think EVERYONE would be going to a regular doctor,, paying for an office vist of $75 and then getting an RX for methadone fo 300 tablets,, say 10 a day 100 mg average dose, is only $25 at the drug store.. It's not that easy. Doesn't work like that, If he has medicaid they should pay for it,, if not sign up for OBAMACARE and HOPE your clinic will take it eventually, right now they are afraid to, but that is about to change since I am suing their ass. Go to heathcare.org sgn up for obamacare

Medicad doesn't pay for it in 50% of clinics and in 14 of the states medicad hasn't expanded at all so you can't get it unless you are preg or a child.(being poor doesn't qualify you)I hope this person is in a state that has expanded Medicaid but even if they have there's no guarantee his clinic will take it.i know.i personally have paid over $300 for MMT for 16 years.

Medicaid does pay for methadone treatment and suboxone treatment in Alabama. Huntsville Recovery is in Huntsville Alabama, if anyone needs a methadone clinic call them they are great. They take cash, medicaid and insurance, even obamacare. The affordable care act as well.

In response to the person that is suing their a** because of obama"no"care, you are the exact type of person that is the cause of and perpetuating all these problems that other people like us have to deal with. Quit looking for a handout and find a way to do something for yourself and stop being a parasite on the system. If you continue there will be no help at all for those who truly need it. Get a life and, hey, here's an idea, try a job you bum! Stop being part of the problem and try being part of the solution loser. And before you whine on and on about your situation , how tough your life is, or how you've been a victim; we've all had issues to face, some worse than others, but you choose to be a parasite because of your laziness. I guarantee you my story would trump yours ten ways to Sunday but i'm dealing with it and not dragging everyone else down with these false dreams that there is someway that you can get something for free. NOTHING IS FREE. You might not pay for it directly but others do and you also do in an indirect way, i.e. below average access to quality needed healthcare. Get off Obama's tit and make your own way for once in your miserable existence you BUM. Or maybe i should say, you sheep......

There are worse things to look like than a recovering drug addict.... But thanks for making all of us feel so good about ourselves. Think before you post....

I truly hope Medicaid has expanded in your state.im in SC and it has not here.many are left uninsured because of this but even if you could get it Medicaid won't pay for mmt treatment here.I pay $300 a month and have been for MANY years.but in comparison to how much it cost to maintain a illicit drug habit and the cost to family and my life the money is a small price to pay
