pain for oral surgery. would like to know what is in them because they make me disoriented. ## meperidine is Demerol, a narcotic painkiller. Promethazine is an anti-psychotic, more often prescribed as a tranquilizer ## Promethazine IS NOT an antipsychotic! Promethazine is an antihistamine/anitemetic used to treat allergic reactions and prevent nausea. That is why, in the case of this pill, it is coupled with the narcotic, to help prevent nausea as a side effect! ## VERWON - if you do the research you'll see that it was ORIGINALLY prescribed as an anti-psycotic ## And it is no longer approved for that use! I put the link in my post, you can read it yourself. ## Yes, NO LONGER, but originally was & still has potential similar side-effects such as NMS & TD. And not to say that ...

is it a pain killer? Can it be used to reduce the pain in the stomach during the menusuration cycle? ## what for LUPIZOX is prescribed and how safe it to take ## No........not for mensuration pains...Its for severe dental, spine, pains ## I'm not finding a whole lot of information on Lupizox, but from what I've read it appears as though the active ingredient may be Meperidine (more commonly known as Demerol). Meperidine is in a class of medications called narcotic analgesics; a group of pain medications similar to morphine. It works by changing the way the body senses pain. Since this medication can be used to relieve moderate to severe pain, there's no real reason why it wouldn't help relieve menstrual pain. However, in my opinion, there are better/safer options out the...

I have been taking Meperidine 50 mg 381-b for years. Recently my pharmist switched to Meperidine 50 mg 4171-v and I do ot think it is as effective . He says it is exactly the same. Also, lately I found one of the "old" pills (381-b) and it was far more effective then the new ones. Please tell me the difference. ## They are both generics for Demerol and listed as the same dosage, however, there can be differences in generic drugs and that may be what is causing your problem. They are allowed to differ, in the amount of the active ingredient, by as much as plus or minus 20%, from the name brand. This is considered an acceptable therapeutic window. Since one generic isn't required to measure against another generic, this means that there may be dosage fluctuations from one to a...
