I have MS and have been on Norco for 4 years. My dr. said I tested positive for Suboxone. I didn't know what that was. Melatonin is the only new thing in my system. Could this be possible? ## Can melatonin or meclizine cause a false positive for valum or atavan? ## I believe melatonin messes up a drug test. I had one the other day and it was positive for Gabapentin which I did not take. Why would I take gabapentin if I’m on suboxone? I have been reading the internet searching for answers ever since cause this is blowing my mind. The only thing I took in addition to my suboxone was melatonin.

When looking at it vertically, it has an indention running all the way around. It was found in my grandmother's (who was in a retirement home at the time) pill container that seperated her pills into morning noon and night. ## I found a small oval white gel capsule looking exactly as you described - no markings other than an indentation running lenghtwise around the capsule. I'd like to know what it is. ## Off-white oblong liquid-filled gel capsule, vertical indentation running lengthwise, with no markings is Nature's Bounty Melatonin ## Hello, Unfortunately the FDA requires that any regulated medication be identifiable by it's physical appearance (color, shape, imprint, size etc.) and because this pill does not have an imprint it is not likely that it is medication. My daughter was given a hair test and it came back positive for methamphetamines. Could the 3 mg melatonin supplement before bed be what's showing up? ## Due to severe crohns have been on methadone 240mls a day, demerol 12 50mg a day and 8 30mg a day codeine, weed 10 joints a day and gravol 50 mg 8 a day all prescribed and have always passed a drug test for 15 yrs. A yr ago I started melatonin and all of a sudden I tested positive for benzos and methamphetamine. I have never ever taken anything that wasn't prescribed because I have had 52 major surgeries including removing my large intestines and 85% of my small and I now have rectal stump syndrome which gives me horrible cramping everyday. I would never take something illegal to jeopardize my pain meds. I have no idea whats hap...

The pills are white or maybe a bit more off white but are completely round. They have absolutely no markings on either side. A friend ordered them from India (or New Delhi, India). No marks AT ALL!!! About the size of a flattened marble in diameter ## I believe it's melatonin which is an all natural sleep aid from Walmart. Very mild, no Benadryl or anything. Nothing fun if u get my point lol ## Hello, Unfortunately if your friend ordered medication from India and they came in without any markings the only way to tell what is truly inside is to take them to a pharmacy and have them analyze the contents of the pills. In the U.S pills are required by law to be identifiable through the physical appearance (color, imprint, shape etc.), however, other countries do not follow the FDA regul...

Hi im a user of sleepasil for many months. im taking two capsules everyday.. sometimes even if im taking 2 capsules a day i still cant' sleep. pls help, does it have a side effect?? ## Sleepasil is just a dietary supplement that contains a variety of natural herbs that are believed to help with sleep and promote relaxation. As such, however, it has not been studied for side effects, as is done with actual prescription medications and it's not actually proven to help with insomnia. Have you consulted a doctor about your problem? Do you keep a set bed time and make sure not to eat a heavy meal or have anything alcoholic or caffeinated in the evening? ## i just got a sleepasil. unfortunately, no advice as to how many capsules should i take. i read some notes that its more effective...

I've been on trazodone for 2 weeks but quit taking it 24 hours ago. Is it safe to take melatonin now? ## According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool) there are no interactions listed between Trazodone and melatonin. Also, our bodies naturally produce melatonin at night. So if there were to be an interaction, no one would be able to take their Trazodone at night or while napping in a dark room. I'm not trying to sound facetious, but in my honest opinion there really shouldn't be any problem with this combination, otherwise Trazodone would be rendered useless for all humans.

white round pill, very think no numbers, letters, scoring. smooth on both sides, ## small, white smooth pill with an engraved line through middle of one side ## That is what I've found, Small white smoothe with one half scoring on one side only, Help !!! ## If there are no markings, we can rule it out as being a U.S. manufactured prescription tablet, because they are all required by law to have imprints to enable their identification in case of emergency. Thus, it is most likely that this is an over the counter product of some type. And, if you've ever purchased a few of them, you know there are quite a few possibilities, among both medications and supplements, that meet this description. Just to give a few examples, right now on my shelf, I have both a Vitamin D tablet and a Me...

I am 49 years old, I am taking tribet 1mg 1/2 tablet daily. What time is more advisable i.e., morning/night time is advisable to take the tablet. What are the side affects? ## The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, flatulence, and hypoglycemia. It is best to take it in the morning, just before your meal, unless your doctor instructs otherwise. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Recently I was prescribed Levoflaxin for a pneumonia infection which I could have picked up at the nursing home where I work - 5, 650 gm tablets..the first nite I got no sleep so am now cutting the pill in half & take it each morning at 10 a.m...that's ok? will I have a good nite's sleep without the help of Melatonin?

I am taking 5mg of Eliquis and 3mg of melatonin each day. Is it safe? I want to take melatonin twice a day for sleeping trouble. Is it okay? ## Melatonin can increase the anticoagulation effects of Eliquis, according to FDA reports, so they should not be taken together, without your doctor's approval. It would be best and safest to consult your doctor about what you can safely take to help with sleep problems. Are you on any other medications?

Can I take these as I have prostate problem and have to use the toilet in the night, will I wet the bed or will I sleep through? ## I live in West Yorkshire England I recieved a booklet in the post about these pills which I thought may be OK for me to use so I rang the number and I asked the lady if they would be suitable for me with my problem, getting up in the night she replied they would be OK for me to use and would not be a problem. So I rang later to order some,I asked the same questions and he said they would not be OK for me to use. My Dr just suggested melatonin to replace my trazodone. Has anyone used melatonin and if so does it work ## Sunshine Melatonin does work, but it is for short term use. It looses its effectiveness very quickly. At first it was great, thought I'd found a replacement for my rx meds that really were not working and giving me horrible restless legs. But it began to weaken, I increased the dose, and after a few days just wasn't working at all. Give it a try may work better for you. Hope this helps. Karen ## @Sunshine, Just wanted to add that one way to increase your body's own natural melatonin production at bedtime is make sure you sleep in complete darkness. Apparently even the smallest sources of light can inhibit this natural response from taking place. There are also quite a ...

These small white tablets were given to me by someone who didn't know the name of them to help me get that shredded, toned look. I was wondering what they may be... They are sweet to the taste, and look like a melatonin tablet. ## They have no imprints, scores, or indentations on them either. ## @Tmichaels, Without an imprint or marking of any kind to identify it, I think your best bet may be to have its contents analyzed by a lab or drug panel just to be on the safe side. For if one were to go off of a description alone, it could literally be anything...and I find that a little unsettling to say the least; especially given the fact that the person who passed it off to you as an alleged fat burner didn't know what it was either...And melatonin certainly isn't recognized as a...

very small white round blank one side line in the middle on the other side was told it will help me sleep ## this is an off white pill, round and barrel shaped, it has a line across the middle imprinted on it, and blank on the other side. please help. is it ecstasy?? if so what type? ## I'm sorry, but if there are no imprints, it is impossible to positively identify it, unless you would send it somewhere and pay to have it lab tested. I wish I could help you more. ## Verwon is right, without any specific imprints it is not possible to know exactly what the pill is. Where did you obtain it? Also, what country are you in? It is possible that it is either an over-the-counter product, or perhaps even an illegal substance. ## I have that pill, well 4 of those and I was told it was a pain...

My doctor just suggested since my trazodone isn't working anymore and causing weird dreams to nightmares that I try melatonin. I don't know much about melatonin and if it works. I have no idea on what dosage I should try and if it interacts with any of my other meds. ## Hello, Sunshine! How are you? The dosage is generally anywhere from 1 to 3mgs a night, so if your doctor approves, you may want to start low and see what works for you. What other medications do you take? If you can post back with this information, I can check for interactions or problems for you. The FDA classifies Melatonin as a supplement and it's only known side effect is drowsiness. ## I suffer from really bad insomnia I been taking lunesta for about 15 years and I took trazadone also as a add on. I have not slept at all for over a week and have been prescribed circadin 2mg tablets. How long before these start to work and can they become addictive? Thank you ## Hello, Brian! How are you? This is actually a supplement, Melatonin is a substance naturally present in the body and supplementing it can help restore someone's natural sleep cycle, thus, it is also not addictive. The FDA lists its only common side effects as including drowsiness and dizziness. Is there anything else I can help with?

I only take 5mg of a Melatonin supplement, but my toxicology test is coming back as positive for benzodiazepenes. Is that possible? ## Hmmm, it shouldn't - your body produces melatonin naturally anyways. Did you take any other supplement or medications recently? Perhaps Valium (Diazepam)? There are some other threads on here discussing similar questions - with anecdotal reports of melatonin causing weird results in lab work... although I can't find anything scientific on it. For example: /topics/melatonin-false-positive/
