Mavyret Living With Side Effects?

I was diagnosed with Hep C 25 yrs ago, took Interferon injections for a yr, my Hep C came back as soon as I stopped treatment. Then was given Interferon and Ribavirin but couldn't tolerate it. In 2016 I made it 5 weeks into Harvoni and couldn't live with the side effects. Since 2016 my liver fibrosis has increased now at a 2-3 was a 1-2 for yrs but its now jumped up since the Harvoni. My Dr wants me to start a new treatment but with my sensitivity to medications I'm scared. I've been looking into Mavyret? The paperwork the nurse gave me said 8 weeks? Looks doable ? Was wondering if anyone has had any long term side effects? My Dr said most people tolerate Harvoni , but on this forum I found a group who had as bad, if not worse side effects then I had!. Please can you help me?

Since posting this last year I completed the 8 week treatment of Mavryet on April 5th 2020... I am CURED!????? For the most part it was easy, didn't have a lot of side effects. I was tired at first so changed to taking it at bedtime and that made it so much easier. I haven't felt my energy return, had it for 26 yrs. But just knowing I've cured it is a huge relief ... Looking forward to watching my Grandkids grow up.

No I haven't started a medicine yet , slight glitch had decompression in June and just had to have it fused?? so was waiting till I heal from this surgery before trying a new medicine. So looking like probably January before I see the Hep Dr again.

Have you started a medication, yet? Is it the Mavyret?

Mavyret can cause side effects, such as nausea, diarrhea, lack of energy, and fatigue.

Everyone is different, so how a medication works on us can vary from person to person.

Thank you... Since posting this I've talked to my Dr and I'm not given a choice of which meds, apparently the insurance decides that!? I was pretty disappointed and then he says I need to lose weight cause even if I were to cure the Hep C I am at risk of Fatty Liver damage. At that point I was feeling deflated I've been 220-250 my WHOLE life. (Since 13 and I'm 58 now) Dr may fight for the shorter dose but he can't promise anything, While on the interferon I had flu like symptoms the whole year! Worked and raised 2 kids so if just tired that's doable for me! But the not being able to move , every joint aching and my mind in a fog while on Harvoni was not doable. Took me over a year to feel close to normal again.
