Major Suggestion Towards Fixing Things!
UpdatedBRING BACK AVINZA! I've had Chronic Pain for 36 years daily. For almost 25 years now I've been taking strong Narcotics, mostly though I've been taking one kind of Morphine or another. But the best I've had for my C1-C2 Pain, and head, facial, and upper body Pain (that is also somewhat due to severe head injury, and the multiple head and face injuries that I had) has been AVINZA! It worked so well for my Pain and in relation to my body, that I classified it as a Miracle drug. I'm having a hard time finding a replacement, as of yet one year later I have NOT found one that compares anywhere close to it, though I can't get MS Contin, or Oxy-Contin paid for and which I'd like to try again with the correct dosage; as when I used it years ago it was not at all being the correct dosage for my Chronic Pain.
I think an amazing drug for Chronic Pain has been wrongly taken off the Pharmacy shelf- being AVINZA! I have no doubt it is a major loss for us who suffer from daily Pain! I say don't worry about those who abuse it, but be more concerned about us who rightly and responsibly use it for our bodily Pain. I didn't even cause my Pain problem, it is due to some strangers illegal actions that I got peanuts from the truck company for! So why should I have to pay any more than I've already had to greatly pay for!
The past year has been another one of the many years I might as well have thrown out the window for what my many years of existing have been. AVINZA being taken away makes absolutely NO sense to me, it's a grave wrong! It's been absolutely NO benefit to myself, only another loss and condition to deal with- that has nothing to do with my blame or responsibility!
Bring Back AVINZA!

I'm very sorry that the medication that worked so well for you is no longer available.
However, this website has nothing to do with medication manufacturing, availability, market removal or etc. It is an information only resource.
The active ingredient in Avinza is Morphine in a time released formulation, so you may want to look into trying the MS Contin generics that also contain it and which most insurances will cover.
The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Does anyone else have any ideas or suggestions that may help?
