Hello,

Yes Metroprolol comes in a variety of apperances, including pink, blue, and white colors.

The white ones are probably Torprol XL, branded versions of this drug. Can you post the strength of the pills as well as any imprints which appear on them? That way someone could most likely reply with the exact dosage.

I have been taking Metoprolol ER 100MG Tab Wat and it is a white round tablet with the number 832 on the back. It was time for a refill and I received a white oval shaped tablet with M on one side and MT2 on the other side. Is this the same? If not what is the difference?

The tablet with the M MT2 marking contains 50mgs of Metoprolol in an extended release formulation. It has just been manufactured by a different company. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.

And yes, Nellie, the prior one contained 100mgs of Metoprolol in an extended release formulation, and it is manufactured by Watson Pharmaceuticals. Was your dosage supposed to be lowered?

Lindsey is also correct on the colors, they actually don't mean anything, that is entirely up to the whit and whim of the manufactured.
