I had horrible sides effects with Lyrica. Anxiety Attacks, Panic Attacks, Rapid Pulse, Suicidal thoughts, Pressure Headaches, Thought I was finally going crazy. Stopped taking 1 month ago, beginning to feel like my old self. Saw 3 doctors during this time and no one suspected the Lyrica ## Very odd, as these are prominently warned about in all Lyrica literature. ## I looked on Pzifer's wed site for side effects and the one's I experienced were not listed. Nor were there any warnings to this effect. That is why I kept taking it. Then I began to read websites and peoples actual experience and found common links. I only last night read this website and found the good and bad replies ## One thing that you need to know is that the side effects listed in the common monograph, like the...

My spell check is on the blink so please excuse any errors! I had surgery In Sept of 2005 on my lower leg, resulting in nerve trauma and extreme stabbing hot and cold pain, in that area. It was almost impossible to walk. I had no relief from standard painkillers such as Vicoden and Ibuprofen. Lyrica was prescribed at 25 mg and provided incredible relief within 48 hours. It was increased slowly to 150 mg over one month. I am now- in Jan of 2007, slowly decreasing the medicine over a one month period, with good success so far. I would like some input or info on the side efects or any withdrawl issues. Also, how long does it take to get out of the system? My experience in total has been very favorable. I did have definite challenges with memory, and loosing my place in discussions with peo...

I was on Lyrica for nerve pain, numbness in feet while walking, pins and needles in feet when I got up in the morning, after taking Lyrica for just 2 days I had severe creepy crawlers in my brain, they told me that this was the first they had heard of this side effect. I was put back on Neurontin because I did not have any side effects with this medication when I was treated 3 1/2 years ago for symtoms of a stroke. I have still not gotten any true diagnosis of what has been going on with my body. It is just plain crazy to have several MRI's and CT scans and your Neurologists difference in opinion. It messes with my thinking when you get no true answers.... Niecy ## I have been takeing Lyrica for 6 months, was takeing nerontin for years for nerve pain. I can take 100 mg ok but if the...

Hello, I just read your comments about lyrica. I have peripheral polyneuropathy. This means it effects both sensory and motor nerves and causes both muscle and surface nerve pain. I take cymbalta with lyrica to help with the pain. Ask your doctor if this may help you. ## It appears that you made a new post, rather than a reply to the one you were reading. I have been on Lyrica for 2 yrs.I have not had weight gain from this.It was from not working and two back surgeries. It has been a good help with my leg pain.It does make me sleepy so I take it at night only.To those people taking more than 350 mg a day I was told that is the most you should take.Hope this helps some people ## You said you only take it at night, how much do you take. My doctor just put me on 75mg 3xday.So far it has not made me sleep,How long before you saw any result? ## How long it takes to see results really depends on the individual. You do need to continue taking it as prescribed for several weeks, before you will be able to know if it is working for you or not. These drugs are not narcotics and do not work like them, so you will not feel any immediate effect or res...

Lyrica can cause odd actions of a person, not being able to say words correctly, falling, and other strange behaviors. My husband did take it, but the doctor stopped it so that we can see if it is the cause of the problems. ## Those are listed as some possible side effects that you should see your doctor about ASAP! Looks like you probably did the right thing. Here's the prescribing info: Lyrica Click Here

I was prescribed Lyrica due to pain and burning on right side from a stroke I had in 2003. M&M candies would have been just as effective. They increased my dose to 600mg per day. All I noticed was weight gain, better urination so it must shrink prostrate gland, it also seemed to effect my male sexuality, it was harder to get aroused for sure. It also shrank the size of my wallet(very expensive) started low dose and went to 600 mg. They wanted me to refill and keep taking, I said no, it was not effective and helped me none at all. I have been using Oxycodone and Hydrocodone for pain and discomfort on my right side. I take Oxycodone during day and Hydrocodone over night (Oxycodone can effect your breathing and I have sleep apnea. Thier concern is my using controlled drugs for pain rel...

Lyricda worked well to decrease my debiliting level of neuropathic pain and burn in feet and lower legs. This allowed me to function better in my daily activities. Medicaid has seen fit to deny me the dosage (500 mg/day) which worked, and only allow me 300 mg/day, which is ineffective. I need documentation on the efficasy of doses over 300 mg/day in order to fight my appeal of this decision. Thanx, kate

I've had weight gain and swelling in my feet and hands since I've taken this drug. I accidently took 150 mgs of Lyrica at one time. Will I be ok? I tried to vomit and can't. I am freaking out. ## Relax, you will be okay. You are not the first to do this and people involved in the first study ingested more than this. It is okay, just be more careful. ## Vomiting will not help. Just keep drinking as many fluids as you can to avoid any toxicity. I doubt very very much you would be toxic though because you would have known it by now with a high fever, or chills, lots of sweating, inability to think or talk well. If you dont have these symptoms relax and go on with life.

I have for a month now experienced pain in my left side around and under my lower rib cage to the point my husgand cant lay his arm around me at night. Cat scan did not pick up anything in that area but did pick up ovarian cysts. I do however have sleep apnea but am allergic to the machine and latex. What is the benefit of my taking lyrica and is there a generic equivalent. I do not have good insurance as I explained to my Dr. and even w/ins this is $75.oo for the low dose and he wanted me to gradually increase it. Is there another option? ## Elizabeth - your symptoms sound exactly like mine but for me it's on the right side. I've been taking Lyrica for 2 years along with pretty high doses of narcodics. Some, but not all ER nurses may give you some discussion over the phone, but most will not. Depends where you live - in the city or an outlying area.
