Lyrica.reaction/itching Very Bad

Updated

My God, where do i start, I was put on Lyrica 5 months ago to help relieve Fibromyalgia/arthritus pain.... its all i was every on, in 10 weeks i gained 15 pounds, over time my entire body hurt like hell, no sleep at night at all.. i was a zombie, it got worse, my eyesight, especially at night was worse. I knew something was happening but couldnt really put my finger on it. The itching was horrendous. Now, im not a sick lady, my knee pain got worse, i was told at age 65 i neede a walker, going from a healthy active person to toatll disbelief as to what was happening to me... i wish there was a law suit, id get on the band wagon.. please, please be careful taking this med. I started off on 75mg per day, nothing was happening, nothing, no difference, then went to 150 mg. per day, my life was a mess. I took myself off LYRICA 2 WEEKS AGO, IM STARTING TO FEEL SOME NORMALCY AGAIN, STILL ITCHING, BUT NOT NEARLY AS BAD. Thank goodness for these forums and technology today... Never will i take this pill agin, crazy i was...

I'm so sorry about what happened to you.

Whenever you try a new medication, always remember that you know your body best, your doctor is an expert at medicine, but not about you!! If something seems strange, then it likely is, so follow your instincts.

Learn more Lyrica details here.

As to the itching, it may have caused some bad skin dryness, so a medicated lotion or ointment may help, if you can use one.

Has the pain eased any?

I know exactly what you are saying. I am 74 & have just taken myself down from 100mg per day to 50mg, within the next week I will get off them completely. I have extreme vertigo couples with extremely low blood pressure & even in the last 24 hours have noticed an improvement. Also the itching has slightly improved. I can't remember the last time I slept through the night & these tablets definitely affect mood swings. Do hope you continue to improve.

Barb,

I'm glad that your already seeing a change. It's horrible when side effects of a medication can cause such misery. I hope you continue to improve and feel back to normal very soon.
Best wishes
