Lyrica Swelling And Foot Pain

Updated

I took Lyrica for about 8 weeks and felt horrible on it. I had pretty much every side effect you could think of. I began having pitting edema in my legs and extreme pain on the solesof my feet. I weaned off of it and now 6 plus weeks later I am still having swelling and foot pain. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes I have had the feet problem. I will be sound asleep and awake to what feels like someone stabbing the heals of my feet with an ice pick. I have never felt anything like this before.

Some people do not do well on Lyrica, however, side effects do not last for that long after the medication has been discontinued.

There are also not listed among the normal side effects and should be reported to your doctor, immediately.

Common side effects include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth.

I took only one dose of it. My symptoms showed up within 45 minutes, extreme twitching all over, large and small nerves/muscles. Shoulders, hands, feet, legs, feet. I couldn't focus, I walked and talked like a drunk. Within 6 hours most of my faculties came back. My small motor skills are still not working. It is taking me alot more time to type this email, text, dial, anything else that that takes small motor skills. I shake terribly when I try to balance and carry plates with food on them. No control of the twitches. It's worse if I drink coffee, when I am tired and when I am not feeling well. That was November or the first part of December and this is May. No better whatsoever.

I am so sorry for each of you suffer the side effects of Lyrica. My life is filled each day with extreme polynueropathy pain. My legs no longer function as they did. Unstable trying to walk. I am in such pain that it is keeping me up most nights. I am exhausted and there seems to be none able to help. I hold Phizer responsible as well as the doctor that put me on it knowing I was allergic to gabapentin.Lyirica is in the family of gabapentine and pregabalin.

Hi Jon. You say you "have just started taking this drug" and then say you "have no problems when you stop taking it". When were you prescribed it? What do you take it for? How long were you taking it before you stopped taking it? Did you retake it? How long didn't you take it for? You do not give much information to make a good case for this pill against so many problems listed by so many people. Lyrica is not like valium. Valium is a muscle relaxant. Lyrica disables nerves so as to disrupt pain sensors and other neurons. Those are the properties of these drugs, although i know both are prescribed for other reasons as well. Oxys have a different property again. I am aware all three you mention are commonly used recreationally. If you are not regularly and consistently taking lyrica you most likely will not experience any of the symptoms or problems associated with this medication listed in these posts, or possibly put some down to something else without realising. If you are prescribed to take it regularly, you are either one of the lucky ones or your problems have yet to begin.

My foot pain has been absolutely awful since I have been taking this poison! Not one single doctor has thought to blame Lyrica. In fact, Lyrica is "supposed to be helping"
