Lyrica Is Dangerous / Class Action Suit Anyone? (Page 2)

I have crps in both hands from carpal tunnel release...after several months, I was worse, not better. My workmens comp dr. said " You will have chronic pain the rest of your life and you will just have to learn to live with it"...oh thanks doc for screwing my hands up, not to mention how it has drastically has changed my life and limitations. I have been seeing a pain specialist ever since and that was back in 2001 when I had the release. I was on lyrica for the last 6 years, I have been off of it for three months. Now that I think back to when my severe depression started was not long since I started taking it. I don't know how many times I said I hate my life and I wish I was dead, I had thoughts of taking all my prescriptions and going to sleep for good! By the grace of god, I had my four nephews to take care of and I truly believe they saved my life! My pain management N.P wanted to keep a close eye on me when I started taking it, so I went from going every six months to every three months and when my depression got worse every two months...nothing was done, I was on 600 mg. a day, why didn't she try to lower my dose? I complained about the swelling and she said she didn't have any other patients complain, I was taking lyrica for the pain in my hands and the whole time it was making them worse! There were many time I would be driving and make a turn and not know where I was...one day I couldn't remember my address, I couldn't remember conversations I had with my boys, I had no brain! When I came off lyrica and I did it slowly...it was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Hot, cold, night sweats, nauseous...I was at the grocery store and literally felt like a monster coming out of me, thank god I am off lyrica! My lawyer is checking on a class action lawsuit, all of us that has had a horrible experience with lyrica, we all need to come together and they need to pay for putting this horrible drug on the market!

I have always snored but never had sleep apnea or needed a machine until I was on Lyrica. Now that I have been off of Lyrica for about 3 months I am thinking about maybe having another sleep study to see if I still need it. Didn't even think about it being because of the Lyrica until I read this but wouldn't be surprised. One more of about 20 bad side effects I had from this medication!

I have called probably about 8 different law firms. Ones I found online while searching stuff about Lyrica and some of the big named ones here in Michigan where I live. Nobody will take the case. They all tell me not to give up to keep looking it's just not in their offices best interest to takey case. Something needs to be done!! I already posted in here about all ofy aide effects and talked about the hello I have been through because of this medication. Did anyone else have issues with their muscles like I did. Or mess up their legs, walking, lower back or balance???

Please stop taking it before you get worse! I thought drugs and surgery were my last hope until I discovered water from a Japanese medical device. {edited for privacy}.

I am having the exact same problem. Forgetting stuff all the time and mispronouncing my words also because of what feels like a mouth spasm. People also say they do no notice the mispronounced words but it is very obvious to me.

Please keep me informed about any class action lawsuits. About a year and a half ago I started taking Lyrica right away I started feeling funny and didn't like it at all. My doctor said to keep weaning on to it to the dosage she wants me on that I would start to get used to it. About a month into weaning on to the medication I started having awful pains especially in my lower back and legs 3 days later I was in the hospital because I couldn't walk or barely hold myself up. When I finally left the hospital I was able to walk but only with my walker and I was not able to walk normal. My legs were so tight I could only walk on my toes and my balance was awful. On top of a bunch of other side affects. I was 29 at the time. I wasted over a year and a half not being able to walk on my own off and on. I had to have a million tests because no doctor could give me any diagnosis. They thought it was MS but the test came back negative. Then they thought it was this or that and it just went on and on. I had even asked my doctors if this could be happening from side effects from taking the Lyrica because the timing would make sense. I have about ten or more doctors tell me their is no way that's what it could be. Finally after over a year of no answers I started to research online about this awful medication. In the rare side effects it even says it can mess up your manner of walking on top of 10 or 15 other side effects that I was dealing with on a daily basis. I brought that up to my neurologist she didn't agree. I told her I don't care what she said I am going to at least try it. So she told me the correct way to wean off of the medication because I was on such a high dose. In week 2 of weaning off the medication I only needed my walker for long distance and was starting to feel better and so on and so on. I have been completely off of it for over 2 months and this is the best I have felt in over a year and a half. I was able to go back to work. I am back to waitressing full time. I cannot even explain how good I feel. Oh and to add to that come to find out I was misdiagnosed in the fist place. They were wrong and that was why they put me on Lyrica in the first place. Anyone having problems with this medication look online at the rare side effects and if you have a bunch of them at least try to get off of this medication. I am so glad I went against the doctors and everyone. I am able to live like a normal 30 year old women

Im experiencing memory loss. I also am unable to say what im trying to like I'm saying a word in any sentence and it just makes it sound like a jumbled up word/mess it feels like my mouth is spasming in the middle of a word. Which I then have to repeat and ask my friends and family if they heard me mess up my word and they say no.idk if they just trying to pacify me by sayin no or if they really dont hear my mispronunciation.

I agree. My memory loss is awful and losing words in the middle of a sentence is so embarrassing I feel like a blithering *****.

I have been reading through the latest postings on Lyrica/Pregabalin and have found them all to be very negative. Pregabalin does work well for some people, but not all - this is the case with all medicines. I have been prescribed Lyrica 300mg BID for a few weeks and so far feel that the benefits marginally outweigh the adverse effects. For this reason alone, I shall continue with this medication. I hope that I will gain more benefit as time goes on. If the effects go into reverse, I shall no longer take it. This would obviously require my tapering-off - no 'cold turkey'! I hope it continues to be of benefit because I have now run out of choices for treatment of my somatization illness and anxiety disorder - this 'atypical' drug is the last throw of the dice for me!

I took oxytocin, lyrica, topamax and premerin and had a stroke at 61 yrs old and was told to stop the premerin and lyrica. There's no stroke in my family on either side.

Hello-

Wow is all I can say to all these terrible things happening to many people! I feel lucky that I have only been on Lyrica for five days and have stopped it. Last night was the worst night for me. I hadn’t slept since I received the medication, last night ebmverything cane to a head! Terrible headache all day yesterday. I finally took a hydro of one that I have been prescribed the last 4 years for chronic pain just to get rid of the awful headache. It worked so I went to take my nighttime does of Lyrica ( on a beginning dose of 25 mg twice a day) and within a half hour the headache can back with a screen warming vengeance. It felt like my blood pressure was through the roof. At one point I kept hearing a car horn going off for like an hour (like when a car alarm goes off) but my husband said he could not hear anything. Server neck pain up to my ear, felt like I was going to pass out. My heart was all over the place and do hard and fast that I felt throbbing in my hands. Lips and face felt tingly numb. Then the ancirmety and paranoia started. Kept hearing footsteps come up my steps and my husband wasn’t walking around. Felt like someone was touching my back and no one was. Kept hearing like someone was dropping things. Went around the house to check to see if someone broke in and no one. Felt paranoid all night all while headache and heart rate going off the charts. It was now 430 am and in much pain took another hydricodobe to try and sleep. After about a half hour pain subsided enough for me to fall asleep

Funny how Dictors so worried about opioids but you know what they work and gave never had any side effects from them. I use them responsibly and never abused or got addicted to them. Plus when I don’t want to take them for a few days, guess what, no side effects, no weaning off of them.

Lyrica side efffects are addiction, have to wean off if stopped, and it doesn’t stop all the pain and caused more. Plus the cost is ridiculous.

I refuse to put my body through this and am glad I read all these posts before I got too far in. My last pill wasn’t last night at 10 pm and I still feel ill and a terrible headache.

I hope everyone starts to regain their previous selves and find some justice.

My mom had a stroke while on lyrica. She is still not the same, struggles with studdering, memory loss, repeating herself constantly. Her first week taking it she was at the ER having a stroke. She was more like a zombie then a person prior to the stroke. If anyone has any information on a lawyer or class action lawsuit even please let me know. {edited for privacy}

Thank you for sharing. I have been on Lyrica for two years now. 600 mg a day. This is a drug from hell. I try getting off of it cold turkey. With drawls was so painful after five days I had to take it again. I am now suffering short-term memory loss and I’m finding it hard to find words to describe things. When taking this drug there I get this feeling of euphoria and excitability when I take this drug.I’m afraid to stop taking LTricia because of the withdrawals. My nurse practitioner at the VA knew that I was recovering attic. But still prescribed the drug for me anyway. I asked her if there were any opioids in this drug. She said yes and no. I’m not sure what that meant. But this stuff is really highly addictive. There needs to be a class action suit against the evil Empire who created this drug.

I Had a stroke in 3/2017 and I still have words with memory. I am only 62 which I think that's pretty young for that because no one in our family for strokes. The nurse who looked after me told me that her mother had a stroke after taking Lyrica as well. I have been meaning to look into this but didn't know where to look.

That's so ridiculous. My family doctor has been trying to treat my side effects. He even gave me vyvanse to keep me awake when I kept falling asleep at work and driving. I wrecked my car and so not feel safe driving anymore...Bethe seems to truly not know that these are side effects. I take 150 mg 3 times a day and instead of taking me off of it he gave me a prescription for 400 capsules. I feel like Im losing my mind and Im not sure anyone believes me. I need help!!!

Re: Kristine Guy (# 280) Expand Referenced Message

Well my family doctor said to me you know there’s no drug for side effects as he shrugged his shoulders and said why don’t you just go back on it so your symptoms disappear, I have to say I got a bit pissed with that reply as I’d been off of it for a month. So he gave me Ativan to take for the anxiety with no refill. That’s when I headed to the psychiatrist because I knew I need help or was going to end up in a hole in the ground

I’ve been calling lWyers all over the state of Maryland seeking a lawyer that can handle a case against Pfizer. So far no luck, they have even searched for lawyers for me and calling back with names but when I call I ge5 a no go. There has to be some lawyer out there that can help us with this horrible drug. All my side effects of coming off it are listed as to when you start taking it. Severe depression anxiety and panic, I feel I am never going to be myself again, I’ve even been going to a psychiatrist,
