I picked up my prescription of losartan pot 50M. I am concerned because does not look like the one I took before. This pill is pink and scored on one side and sz 213. I would like to know if this is because of your brand and can you show me a picture of it.

Please let me know so I can ease my mind.

However, the pill you are asking about does contain 50mgs of Losartan and is the same medication that you have been taking.

It is normal for your pharmacy to switch the generic manufacturer used, depending on whomever is offering the cheapest price, when they have to restock their supply. It is how they keep the prices as low as possible for their customers.

I recently switched health insurance companies and pharmacies. My 50mg Losartan POT is obviously manufactured by a different company than before. My questions is: is it possible to have side effects from my "new" med that I didn't have with my "old?" (Side effects are stomach pain, bloating, nausea, and diarrhea.) Thanks!

Vic, yes that is very possible.

The inactive ingredients can be different and there can also be fluctuations in the amount of the active ingredient, when you switch from one manufacturer to another.

However, just like the side effects when you are new to taking a medication, your body should adjust in a few weeks and they should wear off. If they don't you may want to talk to your pharmacy and see if they can order in the other one for you.

Is anyone taking Losartan with Carvidilol/Forosimide Water Pills? My doctor just added the Carvidilol/Forosimide along with my Losartan. I think this Doctor is much better than the one that just Prescribed Losartan alone. Usually you need some kind of water pill to handle High Blood Pressure. The Doctor said my heat beat rating was 108 and prescribed me some Carvidilol.
