Yes, this tablet does contain 40mgs of Lisinopril, an ACE inhibitor used to treat high blood pressure and cardiac conditions. This tablet is manufactured by Wockhardt USA.

Side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain.

My wife gets dizzy from the Wockhardt Lisinopril, whereas she did not from the Teva Lisinopril, all 10mg. Is this common to others? Or just an unusual reaction particular to her? We've been having trouble finding the Teva pill - is it in short supply in the US at this time?

Jim, has she consulted her doctor and/or checked her blood pressure readings?

There can be differences in generic medications and if there's a slight variation in the active ingredient, so she's getting more than what she's used to, her blood pressure may be going to low, which could be causing her dizziness.

I have been using Sandoz Lisinopril with no side effects.
Other brands of Lisinopril gave me the following side effects: bowel movement, weak sphincter (I periodically had to check myself and wipe) gas, Erectile Dysfunction, constant coughing.

I didn't know TEVA made lisinipril, but LUPIN just changed their Lisinipril and it's making me sick. Supposedly they took out all fillers leaving only active ingredients. I'm dizzy and nauseous

Had the same problem. See if you can find Qualitest, has a V on it. Never had a issue. CVS can get it. Best I have found.

Merk first developed it in 1987 They were the first to develop the Brand name. I am myself writing them. I can not take the new version of Lisinopril. My RX gets it from Lupin... I am hopeful that Merk will be able to help me.

I'm here to say that lisinopril is a very common BP med, but more than a few people get bad reactions from it. I was one of them, and my health care (?) pcp kept me on it til I had violent attacks. Those attacks stopped when a better ER doc. finally put me on clonidine transdermal. (The preceeding ERs just gave me oral clonidine and discharged me til their next billing date when we did it all over again.)
Yours seems to be a high dosage, and I now wouldn't have an ace inhibitor in the house. I don't like being tied to clonidine with it's side effects, but the alternatives are REALLY worse.

Qualitest makes one that is white with a V on that is the only one I do good on. No side effects and works good. Other ones I didn't.

Re: Connie (# 7) Expand Referenced Message

I also had problems when Lupin changed to the smaller 20mg pill - headaches, irritability, and blood pressure went from 120 to averaging 150 to 170. Dr. wants me to change to USA manufacturer, Mylan. Curious if others have had success with this pill
