It was in with my Levoxyl pill container. Is is a generic pill? ## blue oval pill that has a M on the front, and a L and another letter on the back ## It is Levothyroxin 150 MCG (which is another generic for the same meds) I find levothyroxine works better than L-thyroxine- same shape, a bit darker blue - I think different strengths have different numbers on them. ## Hello, I hope you are having a wonderful day. I found a Levothyroxine Sodium 0.15 MG Oral Tablet that matches your description exactly. It is most commonly used to treat hypothyroidism, enlarged thyroid gland, and thyroid cancer. Below I will link a picture and some additional information on this pill that I sourced from the National Institute of Health. (NDC 0378-1815) Ingredients: Levothyroxine Sodium Inactive Ingredient...

Hashimotos thyroiditis patients beware of the fillers and Crospovidone/Povidones in your thyroid medications! I was diagnosed with Hashimotos Thyroiditis over 20 years ago and I took Levoxy that whole time and did great on that brand of medication. Levoxyl was taken off the market as everyone knows back in 2013 and that was the start of my throid hell! I was switched to Levothyroxine by Lannett- Walgreens brand. I had a very bad allergic reaction due to the iodine and acacia in the pill. Then I switched to levothyroxine by mylan- Target Store brand and I had another bad allergic reaction due to the Crospovidone and Povidones (non organic iodine) in the pill. Finally I discovered Levoxy is back on the market again so I rushed out to change my medicine back to levoxyl. Come to find out so...

Does anyone know for how long this medicine will be back ordered? I'm taking the generic & I feel like I was hit by a truck, having nightmares, anxiety, etc. ## Hello, Blake! How are you? I am very sorry about the problems you're experiencing. Pfizer has released an update stating that it will begin to ship to pharmacies by about March 3rd. They state that it was recalled due to a manufacturing quality lapse. Many people are also complaining about experiencing problematic side effects with the alternative medications, including hair loss. Is there anything else I can help with? ## My recent blood labs showed a lower T4 and higher cholesterol. Was wondering if there was a Levoxyl quality problem or if the formula had changed. ## Levoxyl is back!!! I just got my prescription f...

Has Levoxyl been taken off the market again?? In November, 2016 I am being told by the pharmacy that I use (Walgreens) that Levoxyl has been taken off the market again because of quality problems, but I am not finding any information about such a recall on the internet. ## I called Pfizer, and Levoxyl 200mcg has indeed been taken off the market again. No estimate as to when it will be available. ## Has anyone explored other viable alternatives to Levoxyl in the meantime? From what I understand, there's always Synthroid or generic Levothyroxine which are commonly prescribed. Is Levoxyl really much different? If so, in what way, because it seems to be the same drug with a different name (aside from fillers)... I've also heard about various thyroid products such as 'ArmourThyro...

Is Levoxyl being recalled again in 2017? If so, for what this time? I have just read that it is being recalled again in 2017. My dr has just prescribed it for me. ## Hi Maggie, In my personal investigation there are no apparent announcements (official or otherwise) of a Levoxyl recall taking place at this time in 2017. However I did come across mention of a previous recall from 2013-2014, by the american thyroid association. Where did you read about the possibility of a recall for 2017? And I'm not sure if this makes any difference, but was it pertaining to brand name Levoxyl or its generic counterpart Levothyroxine?

After nearly 5 years of trying to get docs to take my complaints seriously, I was finally diagnosed with Hashimoto's a couple of months ago. About 3 months prior to that, they started me on Synthroid. At follow-up, my TSH levels had not improved so I was switched to Levoxyl. A couple weeks after starting it, I began experiencing tingling across my forehead and scalp. A pins and needles sort of feeling. Several weeks later the tingling is ongoing, though it waxes and wanes in severity. Then a couple weeks ago my feet started to swell. I was noticing my shoes felt tight and was getting sores on my toes from rubbing. I made no changes to my daily routine or diet that would explain this swelling. My ankles don't really look swollen-just my feet and it's gotten quite uncomfortabl...

I took Levoxyl for about 10 years. I have tried almost all other drugs synthroid, unithroid, armour, cytomel and Levoxyl worked the best, when it went off the market they put me on generics and that didn't work. I than tried tirosint that was stronger than my 137 mg levoxyl. When I heard Levoxyl was again available I got my prescription refilled and thought I'm going to feel better again. I did'nt, I'm not sure that they haven't changed the formulation . Has anyone else had the same situation? ## I've taken it for 24 years prior to it going off the market & always felt fine. Since it was reintroduced I also have not felt well. In fact on the same dose, my TSH was 19.8 when analyzed 11/2015!! Doc has no answer for me. Thinks it is absorption problem. I told hi...

List of all ingredients in 50 mcg white tablet ## Levoxyl contains the active ingredient Levothyroxine, which is a thyroid hormone. There are actually at least a few different 50 mcg white tablets, so I'm only going to post the inactive ingredients of one of them, so you can get an idea of what else they put in their. Inactive Ingredients: butylated hydroxyanisole silicon dioxide crospovidone magnesium stearate mannitol microcrystalline cellulose povidone sodium lauryl sulfate sucrose I hope this helps to answer your question! ## In the name brand Levoxyl, aside from the Levothyroxine active ingredient, the inactive ingredients are listed as: Microcystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium and magnesium stearate. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hashimotos thyroiditis pat...

Hello, Wondering as I was taking Levoxyl for ten plus years and then in April 2013 had to start with another replacement as it was taken off the market. My question as it is on the market to use now is there any concerns with gluten in the products with the companies changing hands, and would there be any problems with cross contamination in the process? If not I will change what I am taking now even though I believe the company is not making a 75 dose, will take a 50 with a split. Will Pfizer have the 75 strength back on the market in the future? Thank~you for your response, Dusty ## Hi Dusty, According to Pfizer, Levoxyl (Levothyroxine Sodium) tablets contain the following list of inactive ingredients: Microcrystalline cellulose + croscarmellose sodium + magnesium stearate + calcium s...

Is levoxyl gluten free? ## No, the name brand does not, the inactive ingredients are: Microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium and magnesium stearate. IS there anything else I can help you with? ## Microcrystalline cellulose CAN CONTAIN GLUTEN. I have a reaction to it 45 minutes after taking it every morning. If I take another medication that contains Microcrystalline cellulose such as a blood pressure medication. I am unable to leave the house due to Dh. I called the manufacture of a medication that I suspected was the problem and was told that they did not have to list Diarrhea as a side effect because the medication was not causing it the filler was. Really?

I found a small dark blue pill with a D on half the from and a P on the other half ## Hi Sally, The closest match I've found based on the description provided, is Levoxyl (Levothyroxine sodium) 0.137 mcg. It is a blue pill, kind of an odd shape- like a diamond/oval with the imprint Levoxyl on one side and dp |137 on the other. This medicine is a hormone replacement usually given to patients with thyroid problems, specifically, hypothyroidism. Manufacturer: King Pharmaceuticals Inc. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Levothyroxine Details If you have any more questions or concerns, please post back and I will be happy to help you. ## I have found a small blue diamond shaped pill with only a D imprinted on one side and nothing on the other. I was prescribed this medication in 2007 for thyroid because of excessive weight gain. Is this medication out dated or obsolete? ## Hello, TeeTee! How are you? You mean you still have some left from a prescription filled back in 2007? Yes, they would no longer be effective and you should dispose of them. Is there anything else I can help with?

anyone get mouth sores from levoxyl ## Hello, Suzanne! How are you doing? Sorry about the problem that you're having. Others that take this medication have complained about them, but it's unclear whether it's due to their thyroid conditions, the medication, or is entirely unrelated. Learn more Levoxyl details here. Have you consulted your doctor? Having them check things out would be the best way to get a proper diagnosis and resolution.

why has Sandoz currently experiencing a "production" problem with their levothyroxine. Afer Levoxyl was taken away (I had taken this for twenty years and could not take Synthroid) the Sandoz worked perfectly. What is going on? ## Hi, Kat! Sorry about the problem that you're having getting your medication. However, no actual reason for the shortages have been provided. The companies aren't actually required to state that information. Learn more Levothyroxine details here. I sincerely wish I had more information for you, but I am not finding any details. There are a few articles that state it was due to some type of packaging problem, but I really don't think that explains shortages continuing for this long and affecting more than one manufacturer. Have you talked to y...

Levoxyl is pinkish in color and shaped like a peanut. The other pill in the bottle is round and blue in color. There are no markings on it. I am concerned that it may be something entirely different and some other drug. ## The ones you mentioned that are shaped similar to a peanut are the name brand Levoxyl tablets. Learn more Levoxyl details here. Where did you get the prescription filled? The reason I'm asking is because prescription tablets should have some type of marking on them to enable their identification, which makes me somewhat suspicious of tablets that don't have any markings at all.

I was prescribed Daflonex SR 90MG supposedly to help with circulation. I have no idea as to what type of med. this is, only get very limited info which indicates that the Daflonex is a dietary supplement. I also take levoxyl for hypothyroidism, B12, & D3 for deficiencies. I also suffer from GERD, for which I was prescribed omeprazole 40mg. to help with the condition. I would really like to get some clear info re: the Daflonex & whether or not, it would interact with any of the other meds I'm currently taking. ## Daflonex SR contains Hesperidin, which is a supplement that is claimed to help with various health issues, including circulation, but it hasn't actually been proven to help with anything. When I started taking Levoxyl began noises in the ears. This tablet can be the cause of tinnitus?. You can change the prescription?. ## Tinnitus is caused by increased pressure in the ear due to sodium (According to my doctor), however, I suffer from hypothyroidism and I take Levoxyl tabl .. These tablets contain sodium, which has increased my Tinnitus. What can be done to reduce this?. ## The sodium is actually just the chemical salt they are based on and Tinnitus can be caused by several different things, not just sodium. If you refer to the information here: You'll see that it can have various underlying causes. What advice has your doctor given you?

I am 61 and need all the calcium I can take through food and suppliments. Any suggestions?
