Hi, I hope to find some answers, thank you for listening, I have been on Levo for about 3 months now, currently taking 50 mgs. I have been having chest discomfort that I chalked up to soreness or gas.. but it keeps happening. and this morning about 45 min after I took it, I got hit with a sudden tightness, chokiness, feeling in my throat and it took my breath for just a second.. It scared me.. now I just have a dull tightness in my throat and chest.. Im almost certain it's the meds.. Is this common, have I went from Hypo to Hyper.. ps.. I'm anxious now!! but trying to relax. I feel ok otherwise.

Hello, Bonnie! How are you?

Anytime you have chest pain/discomfort, it's best to have it checked out by your doctor to be safe.

However yes, it is most likely due to the medication. It's not common, but it has been known to cause these types of symptoms as side effects.

As listed by the FDA, you may also experience heat intolerance, nausea, hair loss, sweating and dizziness.

Is this the only medication you're taking?

My PA took me off the levrothyroxine, she said it was a adverse reaction. My blood work came back tsh 2.3 but t4 was 9.5.. I'm not sure what that means. Feeling okay now, chest tightness went away. Blood work again in September.
