Levaquin-scary Drug

I tool Levaquin and Flagyl to fight diverticulitis on three different occasions within a two month period. I developed severe muscle pain and weakness in my legs, hands, and arms along with joint pain in my knees, ankles, and fingers. I was unable to get up out of a chair and could barely walk. I ached horribly just trying to turn over in bed. This drug is absolute poison. I finally put it all together and called my doctor who immediately took me off Levaquin. I was so worried that I would not recover. I have been off Levaquin now for four days and the improvement is remarkable. I am far from my normal self but I am hopeful that I will make a full recovery eventually. I advise everyone to avoid this drug like the plague. This is an awful medication and causes serious damage.

I know it has been a few years since this post. I am curious to know how you are doing today. Would you mind posting an update?
I have a dear friend who has had the same side effects but it was 2012 when he we he went off Levaquin. He is still having side effects. He would like to know if anyone else is improving.

Not every medication works well for everyone that tries it, because we are all different. What works wonderfully for one person can incapacitate the next person for whom it is prescribed.

Levaquin may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash.

It is not commonly used, anymore, since other safer, and more effective alternatives are now available.
