Before I ask, please don't answer with "You should not take that" or "Why do you still have that" etc. I know all of this. All I want to know, is if I have Levofloxacin 500mg pills that expired 3 years ago, are they still safe to take. How much weaker will they be? I have been googling and can not find a suitable answer for shelf life vs expiration date. etc

If your Levofloxacin is in a bottle dispensed by your pharmacy, they will start to lose efficacy one year from the date they were dispensed to you, since that exposed them to the elements that cause degradation, such as heat, light, and moisture.
However, if they are in the original factory sealed container, most medications are good for approximately 4 to 5 years, until opened.
The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash.
