Prescribed in addition to Aprovel to reduce increased BP. After second tablet, itchy rash over arms, legs and abdomen, throat constriction, nausea, swellings, small ulcers on lips and tongue, agitation. I am not familiar with any of these symptoms and have never suffered from psoriasis in past. Phoned GP who advised to discontinue at once and given appointment next week. Have taken antihistamine as recommended. Three days later, still have rash, ulceration, and throat constriction.

Rash is slowly fading, and pain on swallowing took 10 days to resolve. Felt unbelievably tired.

I am so sorry! It definitely sounds like you experienced an allergic reaction and it's good that you called your doctor and stopped the medication immediately, because they tend to worsen with repeated exposure, as reported by the NIH.

Normal side effects of these types of medications usually include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension, as listed by the U.S. FDA.

Have you been given an alternative medication?

I have been taking Lercanidipine for several days and have had a headache, nausea, extreme fatigue and weakness, also a flushed face and have now started producing thick mucus needing to constantly cough to dislodge it. I thought I had the flu but maybe it’s an allergic reaction to the drug?

I've just started taking lercanidipine (10mg) and have been on it for a couple of days. I'm starting to suffer from such a sore tongue and my chest gets tight for a few hours after I've taken it. Is this normal and will it go away once I've taken it for a while?
