Laws Prevent Purchase Of Bronkaid For Asthma

I find it difficult to purchase epinephrine (Bronkaid Tablets) for asthma because the states New York (where I work) and New Jersey (where I live) are more worried about people purchasing Bronkaid tablets for making crystal meth than they are about making it available to people who need it for health reasons. I don't drive, don't have a license to scan to purchase them in states that require ID, nor do I have a passport. So, now you have to have a passport or license to get medications for a chronic illness. This is very unfair to people who are ill; the government is far too paranoid for my health.

I am very sorry about what you are going through, however, these practices have been in place for several years, now and the DEA has recently begun cracking down on pharmacies that don't comply with the law.

It is not, necessary, however, to have a driver's license to get a photo ID, states do offer non-drivers photo IDs, as well. You will still have to go to a nearby licensing center to obtain one, but they are not usually expensive and can be done in just a few minutes.

Even though you don't drive, it is always a good idea to have some type of photo identification. I am not a driver, either, but I have both a state photo ID and a Passport.

Thanks for your reply. I still do not see why the DEA and its worries prevent people from getting medications. It's not even the ID that is the problem; the problem is pharmacies don't want to bother carrying it because it's so much extra work to get people to provide ID and the distributors are so worried about selling too much of it to one person. They apparently do not have to carry a drug if they choose not to; that's no help to people who need medication.
