Is this drug available in the USA? If so, under what brands?

Lercandipine, sold under the brand name Zandip, is a calcium channel blocker used to help treat high blood pressure.

That said, no, it has not been approved in the U.S. So far, it is only available in Italy.

There are, however, many calcium channel blockers that are available in the U.S.

Thank you for the information. According to the literature, the drug is sold world wide. This drug was licensed to Forest lab. FDA issued conditional letter of approval, but the drug failed to receive final FDA approval. Is it known why?

Hi,

I'm French, living most of the time in the United States. My generalist in France prescribed me LERCANIDIPLINE, associated with DETENSIEL 10mg (or the generic Bisoprolol 10mg). I will run out of the first one, 6 days before coming back to France. Can I take my husband's high blood pressure medicine instead of mine for a week? He takes Lisinopril and Hydrochlorathiazide. Thanks a lot for your answer.
