I am prescribed lamotrigine, buspirone, lexapro, abilify, diazepam, naproxen, hydrocodone, mehylphenidate, nuvigil and sudogest. My dr did a urine test and sent it off to the lab who says it tested positive for phentermine. My psychiatrist put me on Epitec which I started last week Monday, I am on a very low dosage 25 mg X 2 weeks, 50 mg X 2 weeks, 100 mg X 2 weeks and 200 mg X 4 weeks. My doctor said he can't give me any more norcos cause I had a bad U/A for phenobarbital and I honestly have no idea how it happened. I had a meltdown, was diagnosed with Bipolar II disorder. On Epitec 50mg. Dose was adjusted to 75mg on the 26th of March. I find myself to be brutally honest. I would like some feedback on some meds I get from my psychiatrist and to hear from other people about how they have reacted to them. For example, I was given lamotrigine and told it was for my anxiety but I had another psychiatrist tell me this is a bipolar med? My first doctor didn't mention anything about possibly treating me for bipolar disorder. Has this happened to anyone else? Pending a formal diagnosis (one psychiatrist felt I was low-level bipolar, my current psychiatrist feels I have a severe mood disorder involving extreme lows and highs, but without the delusions associated with bipolar). I have recently been put on a course of lamotrigine - starting on 25mg a day and now on 100mg per day. Initially I felt it had really worked in balancing out my moods. In particular my tendency to engage in risky behaviors (drugs, alcohol and extreme promiscuity) have definitely lessened. I have been on 400 mg. of lamotrigene for about 8 yrs for PTSD, I have had extensive therapy and they feel I no longer need them. I feel so great now I want to come off this horrific drug. I tried dropping 200 of the 400 mg. for a week and was pure pure hell. So now I am taking 150 in the morning and 150 at night. So thats a drop of 50 instead of the 200. Can anyone tell me what is the best way to cut this drug out of my life? ## Stopping it too fast can also create a risk of seizures, according to the U.S. FDA, so a slow taper is best. If I take a drug test, will they be able to pick up that I take 50 mg per day of Lamotrigine. If I stop taking it, how long will it stay in my system? ## I took 25 mg. of lamotigine for nine days--felt it was not agreeing with me. How long would it take to leave my system? What is the difference between epitec and dina lamotigine. I get blackouts and the one dr gave me the one then while in hospital they gave me the otherone? Someone I know was diagnosed with biopolar and depression. Have a background of substance abuse. He was put only on epitec 50mg twice a day. His saddenly stopped the epitec and have suicidal idees and even tried too.
