I'd like to know who or where to take my morphine pills to have them checked for quality?

Hello, Cityguy! How are you?

Did you receive them from a licensed U.S. pharmacy? If so, there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

However, if you have doubts and want to have them tested, you'd need to find an independent lab to do it and you'd also have to pay for it.

What type of problem are you having with them?

A while back I was forced to take Rhodes morphine sulfate ER and I realized that they weren't providing the same relief as I had gotten from my previous brand. I've also read right in these very forums that Mallinckrodt has not worked for some people.

That leads me to believe that whoever insures the quality isn't doing a very good job. If you're going to tell me the FDA then I would reply that regulatory departments are often severely underfunded leaving them to perform only scheduled inspections. That in turn leaves corporations able to short change consumers when they know no one is watching. This type of behavior happens in every industry and I'd be very surprised if it wasn't happening here as well. Of course the other problem is ingredients that don't belong like have been reported in Enzyte and other "male stamina medications".

I'd just like to know that I'm getting what I'm paying for and if they're so highly regulated then there should proof of that somewhere or there should be a way to confirm through the FDA itself. Of course they could well be in on the deal getting paid to look the other way. I'm not suspicious by choice but I've felt the difference and it makes getting my prescription a problem at times due to having to require a specific brand.

I live in PA so if you could tell me what lab I might go to as I know not all labs do all types of items or even what I should be looking for as I've never had any experience getting something analyzed or even if there's a PA agency or department that would test the quality.
