Lan 30

I HAVE BEEN ADVICED TO TAKE LAN 30 TWICE DAILY FOR 30 DAYS AND MESACOL 400 THRICE DAILY FOR 45 DAYS FOR TREATING MY BLEEDING PILES. IS IT OK? ANY SIDEEFFECTS ? I AM 72 M .

Lan 30 is not manufactured in the US, the reported active ingredient in Lan-30 is Lansoprazole. Lansoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor which prevents the stomach from producing acid.

Common side effects are:
Infrequent: dry mouth, insomnia, drowsiness, blurred vision, rash, pruritus
Rarely and very rarely: taste disturbance, liver dysfunction, peripheral oedema, hypersensitivity reactions (including bronchospasm, urinary, angioedema, anaphylaxis), photosensitivity, fever, sweating, depression, interstitial nephritis, blood disorders (including leukopenia, leukocytosis, pancytopenia, thrombocytopenia), arthralgia, myalgia, skin reactions (including Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, bullous eruption)
Severe: Gastro-intestinal disturbances (such as nausea 1.3%, abdominal pain 2.1%, diarrhea 3.8%).

Mesacol is also not manufactured in the US. Mesalamine is reported to be the active ingredient in Mesacol. Mesalamine is an anti-inflammatory drug used to treat inflammation of the digestive tract ulcerative colitis and mild to moderate Crohn's disease.

Common Side effects are: Diarrhea, Nausea, Cramping, and Flatulence.
Uncommonly: Headache,
Exacerbation of the colitis,
Hypersensitivity reactions (including rash, urticaria aka hives, interstitial nephritis and lupus erythematosus-like syndrome)
Hair Loss
Interstitial nephritis
Rarely: Acute pancreatitis, Hepatitis, Nephrotic syndrome,
Blood disorders (including agranulocytosis, aplastic anaemia, leukopenia, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia).

at the age of 15 I had undergone a lever surgery to fix unwanted growth of lever.Before surgery i was suffering severe acidity ,stomach pain,loose motion and vomiting.After surgery i have been advised to to take lan30.
Now for last 9 years i ma taking Lan30 once in a day.

but unfortunately the old symptoms are coming back and it found that lever again grown to abnormal size.

and I am taking 2 lan a day to stay on track.

Please tell me how to avoid a surgery again

I will be travelling to USA soon,so suggest an alternative to Lan 30 which is available in USA
