Knee Pain, Leg Tightness

I have been on Xarelto 5 days now, after being switched off Coumadin when I was in the hospital for blood clots in multiple arm veins. On the 3rd day of Xarelto, started to get tightness in my calf and a little bit in thigh. Slowly it is getting worse, as well as knee pain. The weird thing is it is not swelling and it comes and goes. Saw where this can be a side effect, but haven't seen or heard how long I can expect this to last, if it gets better, etc.? I'm supposed to be on it for 3 months, until I have thoracic outlet surgery.

Yes, those can be side effects of this medication, as reported by the U.S. FDA and they may not go away, until you finish your course of treatment with it. Many people have complained about similar issues and some cases were so severe that they had to switch to a different medication.

Other typical side effects are listed as possibly including increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising.

It seems to be coming and going less often (less time spent in pain) but still get tingling and pain intermittently. I just am worried because I read where leg pain and throbbing and stuff can also be dvt, so I don't know if I'm overreacting because I just had a bad clotting episode a few weeks ago, or if I should go get checked out.
