Can any one tell me the best kind of Dr to prescribe klonopin? I had a seizure 3 yrs ago was given that and have been fin, Dr dropped me after 10 yrs and I need a Dr fast before I have another one I hate Dt shopping can anyone help my old dr was just a medical Dr do physiatrists give them better the new Dr I have wont give me any and wants to wean me off of all my meds he is a jerk I had a botched back surgery and the rod screws and pins hurt I was on a lot. what can I do? any help

To the person afraid to try 0.5 mg of klonopin. try it - It does not make you feel ill nor anything like that just be careful when you take it for 3 or more months you need to be weaned off because of seizure problems make sure your dr weans you off. hope the meds help the other medication will take a good month to hit, but this klonopin is such a low dose and you may like the way it makes you feel relaxed if you have never taken it before, after about 1 week you wont even know you took 1 so your Md may increase the milligram to 1 instead of a 1/2 good luck

I agree that you need to get off of the Klonopin now. I know from personal experience as well as going to medical school that Klonopin is far more powerful and far more addictive than Xanax, Ativan, and Valium. Many people think that you can just swap out Benzodiazipine drugs because they are all the same but that is not true. They are all very different drugs with different effects on the body with Klonopin being the strongest in this class of medications. Klonopin can stay in the body for weeks as it is very long acting unlike Xanax which only has a half-life of only a few hours.

The biggest issue with Klonopin is the memory loss associated with it and the extreme tolerance that your body builds up to the drug and how long the drug stays inside of your body. Many longterm Klonopin users have become addicted and upon stopping Klonopin it has taken over a year before their withdrawal symptoms began to go away. This is one hell of a hard drug to stop using.

Look klonopin saved my life. Xanax is the most dangerous one, that's why it's rarely prescribed. Would you like some real information, the klonopin is a great drug adapted from other benzos, to be a longer lasting form of a benzo, it is powerful, but it treats very terrible things, like chronic anxiety, and nerve damage, ect... If you really want information on the drug ask your doctor for a pamphlet on it, that is also how you get prescribed to it, because if you just walk your butt in, and ask for it they think you're seeking it, because it is sold as a street drug, and highly sought after, because it sells for cheap, and is mildly rare to come across; but yes ask your doctor for a pamphlet on the drug, and that you have heard about it, and it's something you think you may need. Now if you are a drug seeker, you should seek help. There are clinics for your disease, please use my information appropriately.

People are saying clonopin is more dangerous than xanax! Lies. Clonopin has a plateau affect to keep people steadily medicated hence the long half life which also makes it safer because when coming off it doesn't poor out of your system. For those who need benzos for various reasons will testify that xanax hits you hard and leaves just as fast. I never had worse withdrawals has I did with Xanax. I had a seizure which never happened on clonopin. Xanax is tied to much more overdoses to much more problems of people who don't need them blacking out. Clonopin is the safest if you truly need a strong benzo however if you suffer from random panic attacks I see ativan being used more often now. In the ER they call it baby xanax. Valium is considered out dated but does exactly what is supposed to. Yes,clonazepam does have a way longer half life that's what reduces the abuse. People go longer with medication still helping.
