I have been taking these prescriptions for fourteen years four the bad discs in my lower back. I have gotten to the place that I have decided to not take them anymore becuase of the side affects.. Sleep disorders, a feeling of being hazy all the time and just not emitionally their for my family anymore and my energy level is always down while taking these medications. looking for something cheeper than kadian but still works asgood any ideals what it might be ## Kadian contains the active ingredient Morphine, there is another option available, a generic for MS Contin, it is a 12 hour time release, so you would probably need a dosage adjustment to control your pain as well. Have you tried asking your doctor what your other alternatives are? Oxycontin, a time released Oxycodone, which can also be obtained in generic may also be another option. However, like I said, you'll need to speak to your doctor to decide what is best for you to try. ## Hi, Ask your doctor about ORAMORPH it is the generic for ms cotin. Verwon mentioned it. good luck ## thanks fo the info i did ask and your both a great help thats what he put me on again thanks

i need to know will kadian = morphine sulfate show up as the samething as a loratab in a drug test ## It depends on what kind of test they are doing, if it is a standard drug screen, such as that for employment, then yes, they will both just show up as opiates. There are, however, more specific tests, which are sometimes run by doctors or police for toxicology that can discern the difference and tell which one you've taken. Are you prescribed both of these?
