K9 Oxycodone 30mg Fillers Causing Hives?

I switched to K9 30mg and now breaking out with hives on hands bad. I've been through all kind of tests and I think that's what it is? Anyone else allergic to them? The old A's were fine for me.

Sorry to hear about your hives! The K 9 blue Oxycodone 30 (NDC 10702-009) contains the following inactive ingredients:

- Lactose Monohydrate
- Starch, Corn
- Cellulose, Microcrystalline
- Silicon Dioxide
- Sodium Starch Glycolate Type a Potato
- Stearic Acid
- FD&C Blue No. 2

Do you know if you're allergic to any of the above? Have you had allergy testing done yet?

You are correct - it causes these hives to come on me. I found out by studying what I had been taking over the years and it is the “silicon dioxide” or silicone or colloidal silicone.

This filler (ima give ingredient) is the equivalent to shards of sand. I have a silicone allergy and when I looked up the inactive ingredients of the K9 - it is when I found the culprit - especially if you have been exposed silicon dioxide for long periods of time.

Silicon dioxide is a common filler in many medications and too much exposure had cause me burning and tingling in my extremities especially my hands - along with the “bumps” or hives.
