I've been taking Janumet XR (50/1000) for a long time but it has not been very effective in bringing down my blood sugar levels. I saw another doctor who advised I split the medication up by taking Januvia 100mg in the morning and Glucophage 1000mg XR in the evening or vice versa and this regimen has shown some improvement but not as much as I had hoped or desired. Please help with any feedback or recommendations. I am 70 years old.

I have been using Janumet XR for 2 years. And my panel doctor has passed away recently and I have changed to another panel doctor. The question is this panel doctor prescribed me Galvus Met 50mg/850mg, what is the difference? Which one is better? I am a diabetic for 20 years. ## Janumet XR is listed as containing Sitagliptin and Metformin, while Galvusmet is listed as containing Vidagliptin and Metformin, according to NIH reports. I have been taking janumet 50/1000 twice a day for about 2 weeks. My question is when will the side effects stop? I have had painful gas, diarrhea and headaches. I have notices the gas pains have slowed a lot, but there seems to be no end in sight for the other 2. Help! I hated taking metformin but it is helping my sugars are down so I am reluctant to stop. Would the xr be better? ## update : headaches still but the diarrhea has calmed down. ## Those can be normal side effects of Janumet, according to FDA reports, other side effects may include runny nose, and joint pain. Ref: Janumet Information Typically, side effects hit their peak around 4 to 6 weeks of taking on steady dose of a new medication, then they should start to taper off, before eventually disappearing entirely. If you start experiencing signs of gastroparesis after starting Janumet, stop taking it! My doctors insisted the Janumet wasn’t responsible, but they were wrong. Gastroparesis has “resolved” since Janumet was discontinued. ## Janumet has been known to cause some gastric issues as side effects, such as bloating, heartburn, indigestion, and vomiting, which can also be symptoms of gastroparesis, according to FDA reports. Medline Plus Janumet/Diabetes medication combinations However, only your doctor can help you be sure that it was all caused by the Janumet. It is also very important that no one stop such a medication, without consulting their doctor, because letting their blood sugar go uncontrolled can be very dangerous. Unfortunately, most doctors are not aware of all ...

I started Janumet since then I have been having vaginal soreness not burning sore like from being very dry ## I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. I couldn't find anything listed about Janumet causing this type of side effect, but there's no way to know how any medication is going to affect anyone that tries it, since everyone is different. It could also be due to a hormonal imbalance, which can happen in women at any age. Have you consulted your doctor? ## Wondering if the side effects of Janumet (slow release) are to blame for patches of alopecia on the hairline? Also diarrhea every day after taking the tablet at breakfast? Thank you.

Doctor ordered me Janumet XR but there was no way I could take these horse-pills. The pills were huge and they couldn't be crushed or cut. I had to go back on Metformin and Januvia separately. Maybe the company should issue the medication in half a dosage taken twice a day rather than these Monster Pills.

I have a BAD headache, I take Janumet daily and I need to know if I can take Tylenol at the same time with the Janumet. ## I didn't find any problems, or interactions listed, but it is always best to double check to be sure. The FDA does warn that you may experience nausea, dizziness, and headache. Do you have any idea what has caused the headache? Have you checked your blood sugar levels? If they are too high, or too low, the NIH warns that headaches could be a symptom. Are you on any other medications?

I'm a diabetes type 2 patient. I'm taking Insulin twice a day and Janumet three times a week. My blood sugar level is around 150, but there is no sign of improvement.
