Janumet And Gliclazide

Anyone getting side effects from Janumet and Gliclazide? My husband is experiencing sore knees shoulders and dizziness and headaches. Could this be a side effect, I have looked this up and they seem to be side effects, but wondering if anyone else taking the combination has been experiencing this also?

Hi Mollie,

Sorry to hear about your reaction to the medication. From what I could gather, Janumet contains the active ingredients Metformin + Sitagliptin.

According to NIH, the following symptoms are listed as side effects of this medication:

-Severe joint pain / muscle pain or cramping
-Lightheadedness
-Dizziness
-Headache

NIH goes on to recommend that you check with your doctor immediately in the event that you experience any of these symptoms.

Thank you for your quick response. Yes I looked up the side effects and thought they were the same as he is getting. What is the answer? Maybe tell the Dr and suggest he prescribes the meds separately instead in combo?
