Spasmo proxyvon is a medically proved drug. Is there a substitute available?

Spasmo-Proxyvon contains the active ingredient dicycloverine hydrochloride (also known as dicyclomine).

Dicyclomine is used to treat the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, and is in a class of medications called anticholinergics. It is supposed to relieve muscle spasms in the gastrointestinal tract by blocking the activity of a certain natural substance in the body.

As far as finding a substitute goes, it would probably be best to look for something within the same drug class of anticholinergics. This way you can at least be sure that the medication is working in a similar fashion. However not all anticholinergics are created equally, so I would always recommend talking with your doctor first about the most appropriate anticholinergic for your specific condition and body chemistry.

I hope this helps!
