Just wondering if there can be any liver damage over the long term to keep me from having chronic UTI. I have been on Sulfam for three years as an antibiotic.

Well, I can't say that you will suffer any such damage, but yes the possibility is there.

And with this medication, which contains Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim, there is an even greater chance of suffering kidney damage.

Learn more Sulfam details here.

Are there any others that have worked for you?

The dr had me on another med but changed it because it would likely give me some damage to the liver, I think. I have been on the sulfam for nearly three years now...and it works quite well for the UTI's
