Instaflex And Blood Pressure, Heart, And Cholesterol Medication

Is it ok to take instaflex if u have heart problems, high blood pressure, cholesterol, and thyriod problems?

Instaflex is an over the counter product that is claimed to help with joint health, so as nothing more than a dietary supplement, it hasn't actually been tested for possible interactions with medications and health conditions.

However, since I am also a hypertension and cardiac patient, I can tell you that one of the ingredients in it is Black Pepper and it can cause blood pressure elevations in some people.

It can really depend on the person, so I'd suggest checking with your doctor, or pharmacist, before taking it. From what I've found, any of the various pepper extracts can cause blood pressure elevations in some people, so you have to be careful about taking them.

I haven't had a problem with them, but I know several other people that do.

The small amounts that may be in your normal diet don't always have a large effect, because they are minuscule, but the extracts that are used for supplements can be much, much more potent.

What are you current blood pressure readings and what cardiac condition do you have?

My blood pressure is 111/69, heart rate 62, controlled by meds. I take metoprolol 50mg twice daily, Ramipril 2.5mg one daily, and Lipitor 75 mg once daily. Also Crestor 20mg once daily, Niaspan 1500mg daily, Aspirin 81mg once daily. Nitro spay when needed 0.4mg. Had a mild heart attack in oct 2007 w/ two stents put in 90 percent blockage in two main arteries.

Hi just to let you know I stopped taking Instaflex. I have cardiomyopathy, and my heart felt like it was skipping a beat now and then. And I also felt like I was going to pass out at times. I think it is a good supplement but I guess I just can't take it.

I had quart triple bypass I am on np tablet 1a day aspirin and 40mg Lipitor a day is it safe to take instaflex

I have been able to maintain a healthy range for my bp for several years......been taking losartan and metoprolol this past year. After taking the instaflex for just 5 days I noticed significant increase in my bp. No other factors could seem to attribute to this increase. Stopped instflex and np back down.

I believe that this product put me in the hospital twice. The first time my heart went into supra-ventricular tachycardia (SVT) and a few days later a return to the ER for Premature ventricular contractions (PVCs). My recommendation is"DO NOT TAKE THIS PRODUCT!".

I am in excellent health. I don't take any prescription meds at age 55. But since I play ice hockey I decided to act on an ad I saw for advanced instaflex. I've noticed I've been getting PVC's a lot especially sitting down and I was thinking why? Other than an occasional Claritin I take nothing. Then I googled it and saw your message. How long after you stopped did they go away? Blessings.

You may wish to double check with your pharmacist to be safe, as InstaFlex Advanced is reported to contain Curcumin, which could affect blood pressure [1]. The ingredients are listed as:

- Giant Kntweed Extract 200 mg
- Curcumin 164 mg
- ApresFlex (Boswellia) 100 mg
- UC-II (3% Type II Collagen from Chicken) 27.2 mg
- Hylauronic Acid 5 mg
- BioPerine (Piperine) 5 mg

Can you please share your findings and whether you do decide to take it after all?

I am on Jardiance 10mg, glipizide er 10mg, rosuvastatin 10mg, losartan potassium 100mg metformin hcl 100mg every day. Will this Instaflex have any side effect?
