I take methadone and I've purchased a new product called TruVision tru Weight & Energy and TruVision truFix for tuning up your blood chemistry. I want to know if I can combine this product with methadone?

Weight & Energy blend: B-6, Bioperine (black pepper), Chromium, B-12 Methylcobalimen, Decaffeinated Green Tea Extract, Bitter Orange Extract (synephrine), Caffeine, Phenylethlamine, Dendrobium are the ingredients for the Weight & Energy.

The ingredients for the other Supplement are: Proprietary Blood Chemistry Blend (Plant Extracts (Chlorogenic Acid), Raspberry Ketones, Cinnulin, Alpha Lipoic Acid) Magnesium Oxide, Zinc, Chromium, Copper, Selenium, Vanadium.

Could you let me know if it is safe to mix these two TruVision Health Products with Methadone??

My opinion is that standard vitamins and minerals that are normally present in a healthy diet should not pose any risk of drug interactions. Our bodies need many of these basic nutrients on a daily basis, and to compromise one's health for methadone treatment doesn't make any sense to me personally. Other substances such as decaffeinated green tea extract or bitter orange are also generally regarded as safe. However, if you're still concerned I would encourage you to get in touch with a naturopathic physician who understands the pharmacology of these ingredients, as my guess is most regular MD's don't study herbal compounds.

Does anyone else have thoughts on this?

I take Truvision products now. I started with tru weight and energy and was loosing weight. I had no interactions at all. I now take the Tru Control from TruVision. I have lost over 20 lbs on it while taking methadone. The only problem I am having with it is that it keeps coming up as a false+ in U/A's for amphetamines. Once they send it off to confirm it at the lab, it shows that it, in fact, does NOT contain amphetamines. Still aggravating though as I have to pay each month to have it confirmed.

I am currently having the same problem. I have been going to a methadone clinic for 3 yrs now and have never failed a U/A. I started the Truvision supplement system 3 wks ago. I then had a random U/A a week after starting Truvision, which I showed positive for amphetamines. I requested to have a confirmation and it came back that it actually did have amphetamines in it. ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! I haven't taken anything else other than Truvision. Nothing at all... prescriptions, OTC, or illicit. Has anyone else ever had this issue?

Jackie, no that sounds really strange. I have had at least 6 or 7 test I had come up positive for amphetamines for while taking TruControl from TruVision. Each one has come back as negative once they were confirmed though. It is still a pain, but I don't want to give it up since I am now down 30 lbs and if you take methadone, you know how hard it is to lose weight while taking it. That is really strange that yours still came up positive. Kind of makes you wonder if they did actually get it confirmed though, because there aren't actually any amphetamines in it, so it should have come back negative after confirmation.

Re: Shantelle (# 7)

No, you absolutely do not have to worry about going into withdrawal by taking the TruVision products. I have had no problems with withdrawal and I have been taking Truvision products for some time now and have been on methadone for years. Also the nurses from my methadone clinic have looked over the ingredients several times and not found anything that would pose a problem while taking methadone. I think you would be fine, but you can always show the ingredients list to your doctor and discuss it with them just to help ease your mind about it.

Re: David (# 2)

I agree with your opinion on getting another opinion from someone who studies ingesting natural substances, naturopathy. I use to be on methadone and different doses, which makes a huge difference!! Be very careful! I have found for myself the hard way, my body can't tolerate chromium, in any amount or in combination with other medicines!!!

Decided to give it a try--

1 week completed taking TruV in tandem with 55mgs liquid methadone. NO issues so far.
I've been takin my dose @5a.m. & then taking TruV around 7:30a.
I do not take the 2nd dose of TruV. currently the 1x a day is sufficient for me-- it curbs my appetite & gives me ample energy...im afraid I wouldn't fall asleep as I'm super sensitive to caffeine. this also is a $ saver as it extends supply of TruV : )
IF I run into any complications, I will update.
