Thank you.......... ## Propranolol is a beta blocker and almost all of the medications in this class are known to cause weight gain and hair loss as side effects in some people that take them. Have you consulted your doctor? You may want to talk to them about trying something different in this class, such as Carvedilol, which is known to cause fewer side effects. ## Yes i've been taking propranolol for about 4 years at 10mg and almost 2 years ago i went all the way up to 160 for migraines. They gave no reason for the shortage, but a pharmacist told me that it has to do with the availability of the Propranalol molecules. You can try Inderal. It is more expensive, but it is the original commercial drug that Pur-Bloka is based on. It didn't work for me though. ## Thanx for reply. Inderal and indoblock is also not avalable in Bloemfontein. My dr prescribed another pill that will temporary help me and it helped accept for migrain that knocked me over on sunday, propably because my heart felt like drums. I was taken off Inderal because of my COPD, but recently my doctor said to take it again. I'm having reactions that may or may not be due to this med. Does anyone have answers please, concerning the combination of Beta blockers and COPD? ## Do you have any idea why the doctor told you to start taking the same medication, again? If you have high blood pressure, or some other cardiac condition, there are many other medications you can try. And yes, the FDA does warn that beta blockers, including Inderal, may cause problems for people that have COPD. Other side effects may include nausea, headache, dizziness, increased urination, and hypotension. What type of reactions are you having? Are you on any other medications?

Capsule, white in color with AK60 on top half in blue letters. 3 blue non connecting blue stripes on the bottom half. Was given for a prescription of Inderal LA 60mg. ## This capsule is manufactured by Wyeth and they list it as containing 60mgs of Propranolol in an extended release formulation, so it is a generic for Inderal and is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure, and certain heart conditions. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been taking Inderal LA 80 for about 25 years and it has really controlled my tachycardia and palpitations. But insurance is getting less and less on coverage and I am thinking of switching to the generic Propranolol ER 80. I just don't want to take the chance that it will not to the exact same as the Inderal. Has anyone switched and seen a difference? I'm really nervous to switch, but the cost is getting prohibitive. ## Have you discussed it with your doctor, or pharmacist? They may know from other patients, of a particular manufacturer that's reliable. There can be some fluctuations in the active ingredient of generic medications, but it's very small and usually only affects people that are very sensitive to medications. ## I was switched to the ER from the SR Pr...

My doctor has advised me the Embeta Xr 25 extended in place inderal 40 mg which I was taking twice daily as I was having some palpitations of the heart. I am suffering from mirital stenosis of the heart, but the valve contraction is very minimal and i am having this for the past 30 years. My echo was taken, there also it was pointed that every thing is under allowable limits. I told my doctor that some time back, I was advised by another doctor to change my bp tablet, I did, but on taking that I felt very uncomfortable, so I again reverted back to Inderal. Earlier I was taking inderal 10 mg, then on the advise of this doctor (who has specified now Embeta) the dosage was increase to 20 mg twice daily, then again when after some years I reported of palpitations , he increased the dosage t...

small, round scored tablet; orange in color. is this a generic replacement for Inderal, 10 mg? ## Hi Darlene, I googled plavil 457 and it corrected me to pliva 457; which also happens to fit your description of an orange round pill. Did you mean to say "pliva"? In any case, information I was able to gather on this imprint, shows that it could either be an antibiotic in the amoxicillan family or an anti-anxiety med, which would fit your description of a generic replacement for Inderal. The only thing is, I cannot verify my finding with the lack of information available online, but I would be willing to bet that it is an anti-anxiety med. Does anyone else have information on this tablet?

Sometimes he experiences burning sensations in the legs and relieves it by taking a lot of water. He bleeds from the gum when its very hot or covers himself with a heavy blanket.
