Increase In Nortriptyline Causing Intense Itching All Over

Hi, I have been on Nortriptyline for a just over a year at 25 mg in the morning and 25 mg at night to help with my fibromyalgia/chronic pain condition, as some of the symptoms of my fibro were starting to return, e.g. extreme light sensitivity rendering me unable to open my eyes. The doctor has increased my dose to 25 mg in the morning and 50 mg at night, that was three days ago. Since then I have started itching all over. The itching moves around my body and is intense. All i am doing is scratching, I am also quite irritable. Plus i've had quite bad head pain on the left side and it feels like it's inside the center of my head rather than on the surface; it gets worse with straining of any kind or bending over. I can feel the pain throbbing with my pulse. This is starting to settle down a bit since it started two days ago. My question is, could this itching be from the increase of my Nortriptyline? and will it pass? I would ask my own doctor but at present i cannot afford another doctor's visit having just been there to get my 3-month prescription. I can deal with the irritation, but am not sure what to do about the pulsing head pain. The itching is intense and is driving me completely crazy! I am awake most of the night scratching too! I do not want to decrease my Nortriptyline as it has already started helping with the light sensitivity issue which is crippling, but this itching, omg!! Please advise what i can do to ease it? I'd be most grateful. Thanks for your time :-)

Im on my 2nd day & im itching like underneath my skin my arms & hands mostly its like burning & pins & needles do I just stick it out, og & my feet r on fire!

This itching could be the sign of an allergic reaction, according to FDA reports, so you should both consult your doctors as it might not be the right medication for you to take, you may need to try something else.

Has there been any change? Are either of you on any other medications?
