I have taken Tofranil PM for over twenty years, with great success. Now that I am retired, I can't afford it and Imipramine Pamote works well, but I can not afford it either. Since it is a generic why is it so high. My insurance will not pay for it either. So I have been ordering it from Canada. They never give me the same meds, it is always a different pill (imipramine HCL). I am afraid I am getting depressed again. Where can I get imipramine pamote at a better price? Does anybody have something good to say about Imipramine? ## Hi Becky, Surprisingly I haven't really seen too many reviews on Imipramine or how people have been effected by it. What I can tell you though is that most of these types of medications can and usually do affect everyone differently; so going off someone else's experience may not be the best way to gauge how it's going to effect you in the long run. Hi, the online store I normally purchase Imipramine HCL from said that customs prevented it from being sent saying its now considered a narcotic???? I don't understand how this can be. ## If you got a rejection 'love letter' it is possible it is simply a form letter and you were sent the wrong one, Customs has done this before. They should have also sent you an appeal letter saying you can claim the drugs or allow customs to take possession. Assuming you have a valid prescription (you do right?) you can fill out the form and attach a copy of the prescription and send it in hoping for a reversal. i am on imipramine pamoate 100 mg. and imipramine pamoate 75mg. i have tried other antidepressants. everytime i do try other antidepressante i start having withdrawal effects. the reason i have tried others is because my drug pha. which is cigna charges me over 800 dollars the last three months of each year because i am over 65 and go into what is called the coverage gap. in other words, they are making me pay more for the drug because of the coverage gap. does anyone have a different medicare pharmacy that does not charge so much. they are also classifying imipramine pamoate as a brand rather then genetic. ## Hello, Glenda! I've been on 25 mg of imipramine for 30 years. I've been withdrawing for almost 2 months by 10% per weeek. I had taken the 2% dose for 2 nights. On 3rd night woke up burning all over especially in back of head and gripped by extreme anxiety. Decided to go back up to 5% for a little bit. Still had symptoms; went to full strength again; still same symptoms about 3 to 5 hours after taking drug. These symptoms don't seem like withdrawal symptoms--brain zaps, emotionally unstable--that I'd been experiencing on withdrawal. Taking for neuropathy, started with 25mg, now up to 100mg per day. Last 30 days I have had significant improvements in the numbness and burning in my feet. Now it only feels like a sock is balled up inside my shoe. ## Very glad that it's working so well for you! Imipramine is an antidepressant, but the medical uses being found for these in recent years is quite amazing. Does your doctor expect more improvement?
