Imipramine For Withdrawal Symptoms?

Has anyone ever heard of this medication being prescribed for withdrawal symptoms from Methadone and if so what do I need to look for as far as side effects. It has been prescribed to my 42 year old husband who is now completely off of Methadone used for chronic pain.

Well the correct drug name is Imipramine, it is classified as an antidepressant.

These are used a lot of times, to help treat withdrawal effects from narcotic drugs, because the narcotics act not only for your pain, but they also have an effect on brain chemicals and stopping them can upset the delicate balance.
