Can someone help me identify these pills: Oval Yellow Marked 13 / 9 On One Side And G on the other. Also found a Diamond Shaped White Pill marked 7427 on one side and 9 / 3 on the other. The "/" is a break section in each pill. I found these in an unmarked pill bottle in the room of my son, who is an active alcoholic. He has quite a few if each.

The first tablet with the G 13 9 contains 600mgs of Oxcarbazepine, which is used as an anticonvulsant and mood stabilizer.

Learn more Oxcarbazepine details here.

And on the other one, I believe the marking is actually 93 7247 and, if so, then that tablet contains 150mgs of Lamotrigine, which is also an anticonvulsant with similar uses.

Learn more Lamotrigine details here.

Is he getting help for his alcohol problem?

He is not getting help for his alcohol problem yet, as he is not yet convinced it is a problem. I suspect, however, that when he does go through withdrawal he has had some rough moments, and I would guess that is why he has those meds. I have no clue how he would have found out about them or where he would have gotten them. I am continuing to encourage him to seek help. Thank you so much for your assistance.
