I Feel Awful On Hysingla Er 20mg

Updated

I have been taking hydrocodone 10/325 for quite a while. I was recently given Hysingla ER 20mg and it has done nothing for me. I'm in agony and don't know what to do. This is my 2nd day of this medication and I'm about to go nuts from withdrawal symptoms. What can I do?

@Blumbley57,

Sorry to hear about your experience with Hysingla not working out. Given the information in your description, it sounds to me like it would probably be best to ask your doctor for the initial version of Hydrocodone that your body has already been accustomed to having on a regular basis.

In the meantime while you're waiting to see the doctor again, I would encourage you to simply focus on taking care of yourself as best you can nutritionally, mentally, emotionally, and setting aside other potentially stressful environmental factors or situational circumstances that may make matters worse during this fragile state.

And if you're ever experiencing insomnia/restlessness/anxiety, one thing that I find to be beneficial for achieving that sense of calm and feeling grounded is Ashwagandha root. So perhaps that might be something to ask your doctor about as well, if necessary...

Does anyone else have some suggestions to add?

Thank you so much for responding to my dilemma. Just to be straight, you're saying that I should ask my doctor for the 40mg Hysingla ER since I've been used to taking 40mg of immediate release hydrocodone? If so, that's what I think he should've done as well. I'm always so afraid to ask for "more" medication for fear I will be looked at as if I'm just wanting more.
I hate that! Thanks again for your help and concern.

Yes, my apologies for not being clearer, but that pretty much sums up what I had intended to say in other words. I'm glad we're on the same page though. It is a real shame how doctors are subject to the scrutiny of those who oversee what they prescribe and how often they prescribe any narcotic. So I can see why they may be so reluctant to continue prescribing a higher dose. Maybe in time more doctors will eventually come to terms with reassessing their own level of inner compassion towards patients, in a way that prioritizes patient needs over DEA guidelines… Never-the-less, if you're just expressing sincere honesty about how you feel on the 20mg ER, then we can only hope that they won't be so quick to judge when you ask for something stronger.

I wish you all the best in being able to acquire a higher level of care through this or any other doctor!

The dose conversion for the dose you've been on is not right! You should be on a higher dose of hysingla!

Withdrawal Agony Says:

I had severe back pain and was taking hydrocodone 5/325 up to 4 a day. After seeing the pain specialist, she subscribed Hysingla 30, when that didn't work she increased it to 40. After several procedures completed on my back, I no longer need Hysingla. I have only been on it for 5 months and am on day 8 of withdrawal. OMG, worst pain and agony I have ever been in. I don't understand why I'm still going through this. If you DON'T ever take Hysingla. My Dr. prescribed meds to assist with the withdrawal, they don't work.

Re: David (# 3) Expand Referenced Message

I’ve made complaints on two of the people that work in my pain management doctors office snd how they treat us!, one they fired, second one still there., I told the girl, just because some people are on pain medication, doesn’t mean we’re addicts!, she said she wasn’t treating me like one!, and I told her she was, and told her and I think all people in these offices need to go through sensitivity training., by the time this lady took my blood pressure, I was sobbing and she says my blood pressure was high!, I told her, she’s the reason it was high., we shouldn’t have to go through this when we see our doctors!, hysingla doesn’t work for me either.

If your switched to Hysingla like I was, that misearble feeling you're having after just one pill is NOT W/D. When I took Hysingla, 3 mins later my BP shot up and I felt like death warmed over. I had been on 5 norcos a day for 8 years. I could easily go 16 hrs without any W/D symptoms. The next morning I took my first Hysingla at 8am. 30 mins later, high BP, fatigue, nausea, the runs, and a general feeling of illness. I do not abuse my meds nor am i an addict. This stuff is crap. Whatever chemicals they use to Not make it an abuse deterrent medication are poisonous to the human body. PERIOD. Do Not even take One Pill.
