Based on my research there are no known drug interactions between Methadone and Chantix; so I'm thinking the side effects you're describing are most likely related to one or the other individually.

Anxiety isn't listed as a side of Chantix or Methadone, but there have been numerous claims linking Chantix to panic attacks, anxiety, nervousness, and even induced psychosis. I would definitely recommend discussing this with your doctor since it seems you're not alone in the matter.

I am concerned about the "combination" of the Methadone and Chantix. Is Chantix an anti-depressant? What about taking it with Lexapro and
Lithium? Any side-effects there?

@mir,

To answer your first question, Chantix (varenicline) is not an antidepressant, but rather a smoking cessation medicine. Chantix works in the brain to block the pleasurable effects of smoking. This is what helps to decrease your desire to keep smoking.

As far as interactions go, there were no listed interactions found between Chantix and Lexapro.
However, there is a "major" interaction found between Lithium and Lexapro (escitalopram). Quoted below are the precautions you should be aware of:

"Talk to your doctor before using lithium together with escitalopram. Combining these medications can increase the risk of a rare but serious condition called the serotonin syndrome, which may include symptoms such as confusion, hallucination, seizure, extreme changes in blood pressure, increased heart rate, fever, excessive sweating, blurred vision, muscle spasm or stiffness, tremor, stomach cramp, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. You should contact your doctor immediately if you experience these symptoms while taking the medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor."

I hope this info helps!
