I Need To Come Off Of A Dilaudid Pump On My Own Feel Like Im Dying Someone Please Help Me

Updated

I lost my disability 6 months ago. The two state dr.'s I was sent to was a joke. The judge would not read the records from my pain doctor. My attorney has filed a wrongful case act against all three but said it could take up to two years before they even begin to look at my file. I started out on morphine drip in 2001. In June 2009, they changed me to dilaudid because I was on too much morphine a day. Even though it did little for my pain, it was still better than laying in the bed. Now, I have lost my insurance and my pain dr. dropped me like a hot potato. He said he could keep his practice going based on charity. LOVELY. I am now on my way down HARD. I don't think I can do this on my own and I don't want my 17 year old son who has heart problems and high blood pressure to see me like this. I have been thinking lately, God forgive me, about ending this quickly. Can anyone tell me if there is a way of coming off of this without suffering so badly. Please, help me. I am not above begging. I don't want sympathy, I just want help. I can't afford to go to any doctors. PLEASE. I will try anything.

He said he could NOT keep his practice going. Forgive the typos.

Have you contacted your primary doctor? Or even an open clinic...They at least could either give you the suggestions and doses you have to take to get weened off the drug...If they can't then possibly call the drug manufacturer and I'm sure they have a way of letting you know how to come off of it with less withdrawal. and also even try calling poison control, they may have information to help make the withdrawals less and easier to accept...There is a drug called suboxone that once you start going thru the withdrawal initially then you can take this and its supposed to work with the receptors in the brain and you really dont have a lot of withdrawal??? These are all just ideas, I hope you get some answers by talking to any of them and that you complete your goal!!! Best of Luck!!!

The only suggestion I can really make is when it gets really bad, go to the emergency room, so they can see your symptoms and explain to them what happened.

If you are in an emergency state, requiring care, they cannot deny you treatment and they will know exactly what to do to treat the worst of the withdrawal symptoms.

There are also some assistance programs for medications, for people with no insurance. They are based on your income and the fees are on a sliding scale. However, I can't find one for Dilaudid and that is generally the norm for most controlled substance medications. These companies usually mail the medication straight to you and because of the risk of abuse, they don't like to do that with narcotics.

Have you tried for state Medicaid, where you live?

Suboxone saved my life! I was taking 800mg of oxycontin a day and when i would run out i too felt like i was dying! Got on suboxone and it took away the sickness and the desire for the drug! u have to google suboxone doctors in your area bc not just any dr can prescribe it-they must be certafied to do so. Good Luck!

I have a pain pump w/dilaudid in it & also take 10 milligram oxymorphone 5 times a day.
it seems I'm still not getting enough relief, I am still having a tremendous amount of pain.I broke my arm 2 weeks ago, and my leg 3 months ago, yeah that's just created more pain on top of my back pain.my question is is there anything out there that I can ask my doctor for, that is stronger than oxymorphone.should I may be asking for the dilaudid instead? however I don't want to be in a fog all the time, I don't mind a little euphoria, just can't stand not knowing what is going on.anybody got any ideas for me to use the help I am really tired of going through all this pain and I shouldn't have to with all the remedies & help that is out there today.thank you and Merry Christmas

It's wrong what the pharmaceutical co. Are doing changing their meds due to addicts! We suffer not them ! They'll get some drug if H so who suffers ? The real pain ( chronic) pain ppl.!!!! Dr. we pay know & should try to help is. I've been to same Dr for 20 yrs. If I were an addict I'd be gone but I'm still his patient, he's good but he should step out of his comfort zone for us his patients!!!

i use lyrica or pregablin is the generic name, it helps alot with withdrawals ure still gunna feel like crap but it will help, also just to say to all the people in all these threads talking about pain clinics, wow sorry im canadian and they r a money grab they want u strung out there interest is not yours is the all mighty dollar orry personal opinion but do have a friend down there and yeah not good. formost and number one stay away from methadone this is the worst stuff ever ive been on it and coming off is beyond the morphine or dilaudid. please heed my advice methadone is wicked. to come of find a dr willing to ween u down as far as possible and then u will have to kick as far as i know that is the only way possible to rid yourself of the monkey its bad but using lyrica as a helper works too when you are down far enough. i apologize for the personal opinions but im 41 and have been an addict since i was 17 ive kicked several times but for some reason now that im older and find myself there once again i just cant find the willpower to quit cold turkey which is the easiest fastest way to be done with it, its as close to hell as it gets if not worse but effective in the longrun.

Hello I am so sorry to hear about your pain I don't know what state you live in but as you know Washington State and Colorado have legalized marijuana I am a pain sufferer and will be disabled for the rest of my life after living a very active life. Please don't consider taking your life it is a very selfish thing to do I know because I have tried three times and each time my family has suffered and have been worried about me every sense chronic pain on the with 24 ounces day seven days it can sometimes mind I am on quite a few pain meds at high doses I have tried medical marijuana it does work for the pain I just don't like smoking it. It also helps with depression anxiety panic for most people it also help with withdraws please give it a try if you haven't already. Your life is for everything not just to yourself but for all those that are in the world. I know this system slow mean-spirited but your life is not. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

If u have any insurance like medicaid, any methadone clinic will take you. I believe in methadone for chronic relapsers or chronically ill and peeps in severe pain this will help. It doesn't have to be adjusted dose wise many times. You get on that dose that works and you can live years on that same dose. I suggest going to a methadone clinic and telling them what has happened and tell them you are scared to death of withdrawals and living with chronic pain. They will help you. Every where and every state has a methadone clinic on every other corner. You will be surprised. If you have medicaid, that will pay for your transportation every day there and back 7 days a week. It would cost a few hundred bucks your first visit then up 99 bucks every 7 days for your methadone doses everyday. You cant beat that....

I feel ya. You're not alone. I was taking the fentanyl every day. Honestly you can do it. But first you need to want to. I unfortunately had to see my friend die for my change to really mean anything to myself. Tapper down is the best way. I was first addicted to opiates from my doctor for valid reasons but I eventually just enjoyed the feeling. So I could convince any doctor what I needed. I never left an appointment without a script. So in my decision to come off I used my craft of getting a script one last time. I asked for Tylenol 3 or 4, and klonopin. I took the t3 for the sickness and the klonopin for anxiety. You can do it only if you want to. It sucks. But I got out of bed everyday and talked to my family and friends. And was honest. You can do it if want it. Please ask me anything. My story really is more detailed. If I can help u I will. Good luck. Get that monkey of your back. I got rid of mine and feel better than I've ever felt. Just ask. I'll answer anything.. good luck. You can do this!!
