I don't know anything about Medicade, it would seem that if you qualified in one state you would in another. I would contact the companies that make your meds and ask about any programs they might have to assist you. I have M.S. plus CP from a failed back surgery and am on Percs, Fentynal 75, and several other meds. I have insurance but know some people who don't that have had good luck going right to the manufacturer. Most companies have patient assistance programs which could help you until you get your benefits back. Good luck.

I would file for disability and SSI, Cal a disability lawyer Because this is all they do and would know how to help you the best. And you can use prescription discount cards. I used them Intel I got insurance. My nmethadone used to Cost cash $118.00.with the discount card it was $54.00.. here is one to try just give pharmacy These numbers Rx ID #NLRX 123 RX GROUP # NL105317 BIN# 09265 PCN# AG ..SOME SMALL PHARMACIES WON'T TAKE DISCOUNT CARDS. BUT ALL MAJOR PHARMACIES WILL TAKE THEM AND SOME DISCOUNT CARDS SAVE MORE ON DIFFERENT TYPES OF MEDICINE. THEIR IS ALTO OF DISCOUNT CARDS THAT ARE CRAP. ANOTHER GOOD ONE YOU CAN TRY BUT YOU HAVE TO CALL AND GET APPROVED. YOU WILL GET APPROVED IF YOUR NOT RICH AND DON'T HAVE INSURANCE. THE NAME OF THE CARD IS TOGETHER RX. ACCESS THE PHONE # IS 1-800-444-4106...but use the card information I gave you first just tell them you left the card in you wife's car Or purse,it doesn't matter. All they need is the information. And when it's in their computer it stays. Then when you. Get the together Rx card. Give it to the same PHARMACY. And they can tell you witch one Will save you the most money.. hell I had 6 different discount cards at my pharmacy. And one would work better on my Xanax but the other card would save more on my pain meds.. but they will save you money let me know how much it saves you. Good luck

If you have no income and qualified for Medicaid in PA, then you should also qualify in VA. I know you can't keep it from one state, when you move to another, they cut it off, but they normally give you some time to apply in the new state.

Otherwise, there aren't assistance programs from the manufacturers to help with these medications, since they are available as generics, which are much cheaper than the name brands, anyway.

As has already been stated, your other option would be to try to see if any of the discount programs may help.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Get online ask where u can get help or go to duragesic site & apply for on their help-u can apply online. There r income limits but he got a card for FREE duragesic until he was able to use medicare insurance-worth a try. My ex was & still is on the 100 fenytal patches & changes ever other day. Now since he has medicare no longer free & has a 300 copay every month! But it's better than paying cash for the script-would cost cost more than probably $2,000 now.

Actually, if you are on disability you could get the government to help and you DO need to get Disability/Medicare/Medicaid ( for low income families) You need a lawyer or law firm cause you will need help and you ALWAYS get rejected the 1st time you try. You need back-up... clinic or anything which proves you are disabled.
Good Luck -Mpathia

I too have late stage neuro lyme and rather taking opiates have had best luck with suboxone for chronic pain. Seriously, check into it and the new studies showing how/why it is more effective with neuropathy based pain like ours. That, Klonopin, high dosing of Vyvanse, wellbutrin, deplin, metoporal, and small dosing of seroquel has kept my neuro symptoms in order as well as pain so that I can enjoy life once again. I started this regime while ending lyme treatment with a very renowned lyme doctor and if you can get your pd to look at prescribing information for neuro lyme in the book "why can't I get better?" by Horowitz you'll be on your way to. Ever since that book has been published every specialist I have, refers to it for my meds. I also have major digestive issues bc of Lyme and have had no success with meds for that other than digestive enzymes, iberogast and 75%liquid diet I'm on Medicaid, but not disability. You should be able to qualify for the new state and thanks to Obama, they have to provide coverage to you in a timely manner (less than 30 days). See if you have a volunteers of medicine non-profit in your town, they will help get you what you need until coverage takes effect. Good luck?

Not true about if you qualify in one state you will qualify in others. There are a handful of States, Texas being one of them, that did not buy into the program that would allow someone such as myself to qualify for Medicaid. I qualified in Arizona and New Mexico and in Texas I make $20 too much on disability to qualify for Medicaid.
