I Don't Know What's Wrong
UpdatedHere are my symptoms:
1. Chest pain - mostly aching but occasionally sharp pain; mostly felt on the left side but also felt on the right side & in the center
2. Sweaty palms & soles of feet - sometimes it feels like the chest pain will literally cause my palms to start sweating but my palms & feet sweat with or without chest pain
3. Arm, neck, back, feet, head, hand (& to a lesser degree) leg discomfort - self explanatory
4. Insomnia - I can only sleep for about 2 or 3 hours at a time; feel detached & disoriented upon waking up; once, I felt severely detached & nauseated upon waking; sometimes my heart will beat really fast upon waking
- sometimes it feels like I will pass out as I try to go to sleep; other times, it feels as if I'm holding my breath, then other times, it feels like I just flat out stop breathing
5. Memory problems - I'm more forgetful than I used to be
6. Hunger - lately, I'm really hungry quicker than normal
7. Sleepy - I'm sleepy a lot
8. Hallucinations - this is rare but there have been times when it would look like inanimate objects were moving in my room; sometimes inanimate objects looked different from what they really were. All of this caused fear in the moment it would happen.
9. Throat Problems - sore throat, stuffy nose, coughing here & there, sometimes it feels like mucus is present
10. Eye Problems - sharp pain in eyes, teary eyes
11. Abnormal Veins - looks like veins are swollen off & on in arms & feet
12. Heart Arrhythmias - (self explanatory)
I think that's it but I'm probably forgetting something.
What does all of this sound like & do any of you have any suggestions about what I should do? I have no idea what's going on but I'm scared & frustrated. I suspect a heart or neurological problem or maybe both. I also suspect cancer of some sort.
If it helps, I'm 23 with a history of anxiety. I'm slightly anemic & I have a history of eczema as well. The women on my dad's side of the family seem to always have something wrong with them in a health way. My dad & brother have anxiety, I don't know what my mom has or had. All I know is that she used to take Aspirin after having a hard time doing a cardiac stress evaluation.
There's heart disease on both sides of the family. Cancer also runs on my dad's side.
I've been to the ER three times within the past 2 months due to the chest pain. The EKG showed arrhythmias but was normal otherwise. My blood pressure was normal the first two times but this most recent time, it was really fickle. My oxygen was fine. I had a CT scan on my chest because I had elevated d dimer levels (0.67) & they wanted to check for pulmonary embolism & nothing was found, troponin was fine too. My tsh levels are slightly elevated. The doctors ended up basically telling me that I probably just had an “atypical panic attack" even though this bs doesn't feel ANYTHING like my panic attacks in the past. I highly disagree with all the anxiety bs & I'm sick of hearing it. High d dimer doesn't come from anxiety alone as far as my research goes.
The problem is, I don't know what to do. I'm with a program for uninsured people & so I do see a doctor that way but it's not in such a way where I can just call him up & make an appointment whenever I want. I had lab work done at an appointment I had last Thursday. Although the doctor thought most of my symptoms were anxiety related (like everyone else) I had blood drawn to check for any liver or thyroid problems. I still don't have my results though. My next appointment with the doctor is in 3 months.
