I Am A Satisfied User Of Miralax, Been Taking It Over 2 Years Daily To Overcome Constipation. I take it With Milk In The am And My Drinking Glass Becomes coated with a white film that does not come off in the dishwasher. What can we add to the dishwater to remove the film?

I noticed the same thing about Miralax glasses and the dish washer a long time ago. I took some college chemistry so I knew enough to consult my son-in-law who is a chemistry professor. He said polyethylene glycol is more soluble in cold water. Now I rinse the glass in several fillings of cold water - I actually throw the water away each time and refill the glass until it doesn't foam up. Then I put it in the dishwasher with the rest of the stuff. No more film on anything.

You could add white vinegar. It generally does a good job of taking the cloudy look from glasses. But I prefer putting some white vinegar in a bowl and then putting my cloudy glasses in it for a couple of minutes, then wiping the glass with a rag. 90-100%of the cloudiness is gone.

Glad to hear that Miralax is working well for you! As far as your glass goes, why don't you just try washing it by hand with some heavy duty soap and a scrub brush?

Often times dishwashers aren't nearly as good as the scrubbing we can do with our hands as it is. However, if the stains from Miralax seem unavoidable, I'd simply recommend using a cheaper glass or cup that you don't care quite as much about.

Has anyone else had this problem before?

I use a small flashlight while stirring to make sure all the Miralax has been dissolved as much as possible. After drinking I thoroughly rinse out the glass. Have had no problem with cloudiness on glass.

Miralax: This is funny because most GI's prescribe this. When my son and son -in-law saw it in my house, they said "This is an industrial cleaner (Propal Glycol?) Hey, great. I always wanted to be washed on the inside.... LOL Did not work for me... Hope you are well.-Mpathia from RI
