I started taking generic Hyzaar and I think this may be causing me to itch all over constantly. Is this possible? ## Mar, it sounds like you are having an allergic reaction of some sort. After reading through the package details on DailyMed, I did not find any specific mention of itching as an expected side effect of this drug. I would let your doctor know about this ASAP, as you may need to stop this drug.

Could I take Roxonin while using Hyzaar? ## Roxonin contains the active ingredient Loxoprofen, it is used to treat pain, and inflammation in disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation, according to NIH reports. You may not be able to take it with the Hyzaar (Losartan and Hydrochlorothiazide), if you have high blood pressure, since this medication could cause further elevations in your blood pressure. The FDA warns about this on all medications in the class in the U.S. and Canada Have they both been prescribed for you?

I take Hyzaar 100/12.5 nightly and I ran out of the prescription. I have a sample pack that my doctor gave me years ago which expired Oct. 2010. Is it dangerous to take 1 of them? ## They don't get dangerous after the expiration date, but they do lose efficacy. Thus, if they are years old, then they will no longer work as they are intended. Learn more Hyzaar details here. Thus, it would be best to dispose of the old ones and contact your doctor for a new prescription. However, you need to do so immediately, to avoid the rebound effect of missing medication. Are there any other questions I can help with? ## thank you very much for your response. I did throw them out before I even got the response and did get a new script from the doctor.

small oval shaped yellow pill ## Based on the description provided, I found your pill to be called Hyzaar; which combines Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5 mg) + Losartan (50 mg). Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) is often used in the treatment of hypertension, congestive heart failure, symptomatic edema and the prevention of kidney stones. However the combination here is solely noted for treating high blood pressure. To view information about this drug, please refer to the link below... If you have any more questions or concerns, please post back and I will be happy to help you.
