My 88 year old mother has been diagnosed with SIAHD and would like some means of monitoring her sodium level from home. Is there any test available for her to use? Thanks for any help.

I'm very sorry to hear about your mother's problem. Do they know what's caused her sodium to drop so low? There are other similar medications available, but I am not sure which ones are on the market in the India. The best suggestion I can make would be to ask her doctor, or a pharmacist/chemist. Hi, My name is Derek. In the summer of 2014 I had a grand mall, 2 1/2 min long and almost bit 2 big chunks out of my toung. Not fun coming too and you're totally out and surrounded by a group of dudes you've never seen before. I was 50 and the hos stay of 3 days was chalked up too alcohol withdrawal. Funny thing is my sodium was low but that was ignored, these seizures have continued and it's now June of 2017. I've been prescribed Tolvaptan. I'm a United States citizen and it is too expensive here. I'm aware of all the generic brands circulating in India (Hyponat-O, Resodim, Tolsama, Tolvat, etc.) Is there any way for me to get these drugs delivered to the United States? Again, I have a prescription, I just cannot afford Samsca in the US. Can someone out there point me in the right direction?

If the doctor is prescribing Tolvaptan molecule, then you can buy Hyponat O tablet which also contains the same molecule and is the cheapest drug available with no compromise in quality as it is manufactured by Zydus. It cost about Rs. 29 for a tablet

How can I find a doctor who will prescribe Samsca? I haven't been able to find anyone who will... ## What are you trying to get it prescribed for? It's generally only used to treat low blood sodium levels, so unless someone has severely low levels that demand treatment with it, it is unlikely that a doctor will prescribe it. ## SIADH / hyponutremia. I've read all about the drug, & think I meet all the criteria. However I can't find a doctor that has any experience with it. ## A Dr who thinks you meet the criteria will prescribe it. Unfortunately even with insurance most cannot afford it long term. It is over $2500 for my father and we cannot afford it. Great miracle working drug but priced out of reach for the majority of those who need it.

NATRISE TAB CONSIST OF SALT TOLVAPTAN ,is given to my father aged 78 yrs, for sodium difficiency , Is there any side effect of the same and how long he has to take this medicine , being too costly. Do they know what caused the hyponatremia? Does he suffer from CHF? As to alternative medications, I really don't know what's available there. Have you tried asking the pharmacist/chemist? They should be able to help. The side effects may include: nausea, problems with muscle control, mood changes and dizziness.

I was on assistance program and was taken off they said Medicare would cover but that price is still 2700.00 month. Where can I appeal or get other help? ## It's still that much just for your co-pay? Unfortunately, most manufacturers won't provide assistance for their products, if someone has prescription insurance of some type. I have someone in India asking for this drug since his father is terminally ill from a kidney disease (I am in US). The doctor in a well known hospital there asked to find out if they can buy from somewhere since the alternatives are not working for the patient. He suggested to get from Japan, but they don't have anyone there to contact. Can someone suggest how I can buy this drug in US (I know it has been approved here now), and do I need to consult a doctor to get a prescription?
