If you too are testing positive for hydromorphone but are taking only other opioid medicines (and that includes peripheral antagonists, such as Movantik or Relistor, as well as drugs such as oxycodone or oxymorphone): Please respond with what opioid(s) you are taking, and also if you are taking any probiotics, what bacteria strains are listed on the package? (certain bacteria are known to transform some opioids to hydromorphone) Was a GCMS test done? I'll keep a tally and post the results, hopefully helping everyone with this problem. ## This is just an update: I stopped taking both the probiotics and Movantik, and had another GCMS urine test, which was (finally!) negative for hydromorphone. So, this shows that either Movantik or the probiotics were the cause of the unexpected resul...

I receive a monthly script for Dilaudid (Hydromorphone) due to Chronic Back pain... Recently I got bit by pitbull & a friend shared some of their medication which I took for a few days till I felt better. She said after 24 hrs it transforms in body into Morphine (so if i take hydromorphone regularly & waited 34-48 hrs Id be fine for my UA if i got one)... So when I got in trouble for having Morphine in my UA I was upset and shocked! The other drug came up as Morphine, now I'm in trouble cause there saying I tested positive for Morphine - but I thought that Hydromorphone was supposed to come up on pee/blood tests as morphine, & never heard of any issues? Are they giving me a different test that shows a difference between morphine and hydromorphone? & I honestly haven...

I went to my pain doctor today, and received a drug screen. I only take diluadid 2mg 2ce a day and took one about an hour and a half before I went to the doctor. When I went back into the room with the nurse practioner she said I failed my drug screen for Morphine and Codine. I've not taken anything but dilaudid and also neuroton that they prescribe me. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!?!? Does dilaudid metabolize into morphine in your system a little while after you take it? Also, they tested the levels and it was like 20,000 or something like that...she said I would had to have taken the Morphine right before I came since my level was so high. Obviously thats going to happen everytime and then I will be cut off from the doctor and I can't have that happen. What do I do??? ## Everytime I ...

whats the difference between hydromorphone and hydromorphone rox ## What is the difference in opana and hydromorphine? My insurance will pay for the second one, but not the first. ## Opana is a brand name drug , it would be called oxymorphone, generically, the other is Diluadid and it come generic as, Hydromorphone, If you get oxymorphone, the generic name of Opana, the insurance company would pay for it, but it is not available generically I believe. ## Not sure why nurse said my zofran is a controlled substance. My daily nauseaad vomit from rare gastro disorder is helped by zofran. ## What forms does the M 4 Hydromorphone or pill come in? Im not talking about knoll no.4mg Dilaudid. ## Hydromorphone is a generic for Dilaudid. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. NDC code for more details: 0406-3244 John, since this is a generic, it is manufactured by several different companies. Does the tablet your asking about match the description in the NDC code that I posted?

I have an alleged 8mg hydromorphone tablet that has 54 on one side with 425 under that and scored on the other side. ## Indeed, what you have there is a relatively expensive 8mg instant release hydromorphone hydrochloride, made in US, forgive me but I have forgotten the maker. Not Abbott Dilaudid brand, which are sorta rounded triangular shape with Abbott logo obverse and large '8' reverse. As are the most excellent ones by Covidien, under their Mallinckrodt label, only difference being the logo, a capital M in a square. Have not tried your 54 425 pills but they are reputedly of highest quality. Palladone 2.6mg capsules are the strongest instant hydromorph available where I live and are not often prescribed, Palladone SR 12-hour formulation being preferred, though for some reaso...

I found this pill in the back seat of my car and I'm totally baffled at where it came from and what it is... Any ideas? ## Another discussion thread here on this same topic has identified a yellow pill with APO H4 on it as 4mg Hydromorphone - A medication used for moderate to severe pain relief. For verification, the manufacturer is listed as made by APOTEX (based out of Canada) and the DIN (Drug Identification Number) is 02364131. I hope this helps!

Due to a physician error I am unable to get my prescription filled for 18 mg hydromorph contin, and he's now on vacation. I have old 100 mg tablets of ms contin that was prescribed in 2011. Can I take these safely as a substitute until I can resolve the prescription problem? ## Hello, Patty! How are you? It would take 72mgs of the MS Contin to equal each 18mgs of the Hydromorphone. However, the problem is that your MS Contin tablets are expired. Medications lose effectiveness over time, so you should actually dispose of them. Doubling up isn't safe to try, either, since that could result in an overdose. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mou...

Can u pls help me I have found 2 different pills that are exact in size small round one is green and says apo on one side and H1 on the other and the other is orange with apo on one side and H2 on the other ## Hello, Curious! How are you? From what I can find, it looks like you've found a couple of Hydromorphone tablets, the one with the H1 marking contains 1mg and the one with the H2 marking contains 2mgs. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Learn more Hydromorphone details here. These are from Canada, so anyone in Canada will likely be more familiar with them under the name APO-Hydromorphone. I need help identifying a yellow round pill with a "-4-" on one side and "pms" on the other side (I do have a picture). ## This tablet is manufactured by Pharmascience Canada, and they list it as containing 4mgs of Hydromorphone, which is a potent narcotic analgesic. My husband has been on hydromorphone 24 mg extended release for well over a year with great results... no break thru pain etc.. Recently workers comp has requested that he change to the Fentanyl patch due to cost. Almost immediately he had horrible side effects that have continued... He is on day 3 and just been told that it's because he is in withdrawal from the hydromorphone and they are increasing the Fentanyl. Does anyone else have any input on this? Fentanyl vs hydromorphone? Any help/info would be appreciated. ## What is the dose he has been prescribe of the Fentanyl patch? The ratio from 24mgs of Hydromorphone would be 0.32mgs of Fentanyl, so yes, if he was given too low of an amount, he might be dealing with withdrawals issues. What side effects has he been dealing with? The...

I take hydromorphone 4mg as needed but i wanted to know if it was safe taking two tablets? ## Hydromorphone, the active ingredient in Dilaudid is a very potent narcotic analgesic. That said, it is not advisable to increase your dosage without your doctor's approval. Doing so runs the risk of overdose and other serious side effects, such as organ damage. If your current dosage does not control your pain, you should speak to your doctor to explore your other options. Have you contacted them yet? ## Due to a near fatal accident I had in 2007, I have many chronic physical problems, some accident related and others such as severe arthritis, torn ligaments in both knees, disc problems bot sides of the back. i took a 16mg extended release hydromorphone pill waited 5 days then took a urine for probation on the 6th morning well my urine test positive? ## It is very difficult to give a definitive answer on this, due to the various factors that come into play. Most narcotics are detectable in a urine test for about 4 to 5 days, after last being taken, however, your own individuating factors are always going to have an effect on this. These factors can include your own metabolism, overall health, activity levels, fluid intake and etc. How did the test turn out? ## Can a person on just 1 mg of dilaudid via pain pump for back pain give a urine specimen for a person on both oxymorphone and hydromorphone so the person on the 2 pain meds will show positive since they honestly lost there pain pills an...

I would like to know the Shelf Life of most medications? Meaning will they still be good at say after being stored in a kitchen cubboard for say a year, would they still be good or good to take? If I take a 24 mg Hydromorphone and MS Contin today which is Thursday, will I pass a urine test by Tuesday at 1 p.m.?? Never been on these things before but I really need some advice. It's very important. ## Depending on your fat content..it takes 3 days for most narcotics. Methadone lasts alot longer. Weed stays in your fat cells. Drink plenty of water and cut your food intake..if your really worried baking soda and vinegar will blow your insides out and nothing stays. But you'd better be in a bathroom... and its no picnic. ## I've been taking 12mgs of hydromorphone and MS contin a day for the past 4 days. I'm very nervous, i am currently taking 8mg of hydromorphone and 30 mg of oxycontin a day and might have to have a surgery. I suffer from chronic pain from hideous chronic neuro lyme disease. I started taking hydromorphone because it actually helps with terrible undeniable chronic pain. If i am told i need surgery i will have to tell them because i would not be able to come home for 3 days. I am prescribed the oxycontin but not the dilaudid, and i heard the withdrawals would be hell on earth. Any experience from anyone? ## Hello, Holly! How are you? Certain medications can also interfere with anesthesia, so not tell them could put you at great risk, or possibly cause life threatening complications. Thus, it is best to be honest and tell them everything you have been taking. The FDA ...

Can I take Tylenol 3 with hydromorphone if I am still in pain? ## Hello, Brenda! How are you? Tylenol 3 contains Codeine and Acetaminophen, so it would best not to mix these medications, unless your doctor approves. It could create the risk of overdose, especially in someone that isn't opiate tolerant. The FDA classiness this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Yes you can take the Tylenol 3 with hydromorphone. I used too be prescribed four 8mg hydromorphone and four Percocet tens a day. Hi. If I took a 4 mg hydromorphone on Friday night and I have a drug test Monday around 6 pm, will I pass if I drink tons of water? ## This medication is usually detectable in a urine screen for about 3 to 4 days, but it can vary from person to person, depending on how much they have taken, and how long they've been taking it. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. How did you test turn out?
