I have a prescription for 7.5 mg hydrocodone, but I have been taking 10 mg instead. My prescription says 3-4 times a day and I have been taking the 10 mg no more than twice a day. Will they be able to tell the difference on a hair test and fail me?

Re: TheHairTestingGuy (# 1)

I really need your advice. I took 3 x 5mg hydrocodone over the course of a week about a month ago. I took a half a pill per day. I have a hair test next week. If they run an extended opiate panel on me, will it show up? Thank you in advance.

Hi If my doctor gave me a script for 3 vicoprofin a day and I only average 1 a day trying to save some for the months I can't afford them. I have a hair test coming up. Will that show that I have not been taken the 3 a day I have to take her the bottle every month to show that I'm not taking more then I should but I take her how many I would have if I have been taken 3 a day.

Suboxone is usually not tested for in a hair drug test so I wouldn't worry about that. Adderall will show up as amphetamine. But the adderall might not show up depending on how strong the prescription was. It is possible you could be under the 500 pg/mg cutoff level and be negative. If you do test positive you might want to show your prescription to the GM. As far as your last question goes, it sounds like a question for a lawyer.

I was addicted to pain meds for two years, went and got help. Doctor prescribed suboxone and adderall. I took both drugs as prescribed for two years. I hated being depended on anything and decided to quit cold turkey, it was hell, but well worth it . It's been two and a half months and I feel great. I went to apply as a finance manager at a car dealership. They offered me the position and gave me a start date, but required to take a hair drug test. The General Manager asked, if I take any drugs or smoke any marijuana and I replied no I don't. He took a hair sample from the back of my head, and asked me to come to work the next day. I'm really nervous, I feel I should of been upfront with him when he asked if I take any drugs. Technically I do not, but he didn't ask if I was on any medication in the past I answered the question he asked, do you take any drugs or any prescription drugs and I said no. My question is are these going to show up and will I get denied for employment? If they do, I can get proof of my scripts. My 2nd question is if positive does the lab call before they give results to the dealership to explain the results. third questions. Do I have the right to not tell the Gm about what I took before since its kind of embarrassing. Please help I'm freaking out!!!

If the hair drug test you are going to take is a Hair 5 Drug Panel it won't even test for hydro. Hydro is usually in the Extended Opiate Panel test. It's very unlikely they will be able to tell the difference. I wouldn't worry about it.
