Hydrocodone/acetaminophen (norco) Pill Description

My wife has hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-325 generics for a previous foot surgery she had in May. We had a babysitter today watching our kids and when we got home this evening she went to get one for a migraine she had going on and there was a white, round, no coating or imprint pill in the bottle. Neither of us have many medications or are familiar with them and cannot remember what they looked like but it doesn't seem right. Anyone know what they should look like or could they possibly be like what we saw in the bottle?

Any hydrocone meds weather it b 5/325 or7/325 etc wil have Watson on one side or other that person switched ur meds to have ur narcoics

They do not all have the Watson marking, because there are several pharmaceutical companies that manufacture this medication, since it is a generic, which can be confirmed with the NIH and FDA. For example, those manufactured by Qualitest Pharmaceuticals use a V logo, with additional numbers, because it was formerly Vintage Pharmaceuticals.

However, they will all have markings and are usually oval/oblong shaped.

And I can tell you, definitively, that under FDA law, all prescription tablets in the U.S. are required to have unique markings, so they can be identified, and traced back to the original manufacturer, in case of emergency. For example, tablets could be found to have been contaminated during processing, the only way to be able to remove them from the market and rectify the problem would be if they can be traced back to a certain company, who can then discover the lot number and production run to see what happened. Another scenario would be emergency medical personnel needing to treat someone that was found unconscious with random pills scattered nearby, if they can look up what the person took, via the markings on the tablets, it is much safer and easier for them to treat the person, which may potentially save a life.

The only exception is for compounded medications that were specially ordered by someone's doctor and made by a compounding pharmacy, but in that case, they use capsules, since it is far too expensive for them to be able to install presses and make tablets, not to mention the time it would take to do so. These capsules are usually clear and have no markings, although some do use a business logo on them, or colored capsules, if it is cheaper.

If a pill does not have a marking, it is most likely an over the counter tablet, though there is also a small chance that it could be a foreign medication. Over the counter medications are not required to have markings, nor are they required to register any markings that may be used, with the FDA or NIH…. and when you're talking about foreign countries, U.S. laws do not apply.

Thus, I have to agree with Charlee on the last part of their post, that it seems they have been switched out.
